2024/25 Sean Dyche

It beggars belief that Dyche doesn't understand this:

Pep makes substitutions when he needs to make substitutions. He makes substitutions less often because he needs to less often. Dyche for a myriad of reasons needs to make substitutions more often but doesn't do so.

But to Dyche it's just about two numbers, and Pep's number is lower. As seems to be a trait he ignores the nuance.
Difficult for him to ignore a concept of which he has no understanding.

Just listening to Dyche's press con.

About the Bournemouth result, he talks about the players at the start, so he's essentially passing the buck. Giulia Bould did ask about the subs and Dyche remarked about Pep. Who doesn't make many subs. Wow.

Maybe Pep doesn't need to make the subs because his players are fitter, and they normally control their games? That they are well coached, compared to, say, erm, us?

Strange how he deflects blame.

Giulia was on toffee TV 2 days ago and was trying to say dyche was blameless, apparently ndaiye was tired and if he’d taken Coleman off on70 for young fans would have kicked off, but she works for the bbc and the likes of her and the echo journalists are [Poor language removed] scared to criticise anyone at the club

I hate that he has said I don’t celebrate goals. We were 2-0 up against Bournemouth, a bit of celebrating could have gone a long way, remember when Dunc was in charge.

This.
Been wondering what is was that was annoying me that I hadn't put a finger on. It's this. If you can't celebrate your team scoring a goal, you're in the wrong job.

Plus his subs or lack of, stubbornness picking people, lack of a plan B, and tedious percentage football.

Then has the audacity to hide behind club circumstances and fans like he is some kind of martyr, deflecting from his own shortfalls and playing the blame game.

he is doing my head in now.

As soon as any takeover is complete he'll be out on his arse and looking for alternative employment.

Assuming he knows this to be true, Dyche holds a very powerful card.

Despite everything, he has done a good job under difficult circumstances to keep us up and, if he were to resign before the ownership issue is resolved, it would leave us in a very vulnerable position.

If I were in Dyche shoes, I would be demanding a new contract by a certain date or I will be walking. Moshiri would loathe to be in that position and, although many want him gone (and reasonably so), I really fear who the club would be able to attract if he left right now.

Sometimes, better the devil you know (until we have new owners, at least).

There's no one in charge to give him a deal.

I'd be shocked if Moshiri suddenly piped up and gave him a deal

You are correct, he's steered the ship through choppy waters and deserves credit.

But he'll be out on his arse soon enough.

Would be a hell of an ultimatum to issue when you’re rock bottom of the league with zero points and -8 goal difference.

“The best move is the one your opponent least wants you to make”

If Dyche walked after the Villa game, some fans would rejoice, but privately it would be a disaster. Who is this board finding at short notice to steer this ship through choppy waters until we’re in to calmer seas?

Put yourself in Dyche shoes and remove the emotion of it being Everton. Let’s say you’re Brentford manager and you suspect that after guiding the club through a difficult 2-3 years they are going to let you go just as things start to look up and there will be a better structure and some money to spend to allow a manager to change things.

I wouldn’t think that was fair and I would want, nay demand, the chance. Even if many don’t particularly like him or his Football. You’d be hard pushed to argue he hasn’t done exactly what he was hired to do.

I've done it and I smell of cheesy wotsits.

Sorry mate that's all I've got to add.

You spent the past few days calling me "Donald Trump" because you thought you would bother me, it didn't. You're spent all evening posting at me thinking it bothers me, all you've done is bored me to sleep.

I'm not interacting with you again in any way as all you do is de-rail threads 🤷‍♂️

I'm not even in this thread. As have nothing to say about Sean Dyche at the moment
