2024/25 Sean Dyche

One thing I will say in Harrison's defense is that there is no way at all he should've been the one back trying to mark in that circumstance, and it's a massive failure of management that he was, even for 10 seconds.
The problem I have with Harrison is his output. He gives 100% effort, but it results in nothing. Most of the time you hear his name the very next name you will hear is from the opposition.

Well, like I've said before when we started a season with a front 3 of players who'd all been relegated. Doucoure. Harrison.

You said you'd like to see our players with a manager who isn't awful. I've said you can check what the players did with other managers. You point to NDiaye. How did he do last season? You point to Lindstrom. Same question.

We don't have many players you look at and think "god he's really underperforming under Dyche".
I think there is enough individual moments of quality and periods of strong form last season that suggests we should have a higher average performance.

I think right now defensively we are a shambles with Branthwaite out, injuries at full back, Tarks probably not fully fit and Keane and Young filling the gaps (O’Brian not being able to get a game in a decimated defense is a big concern one way or another).

We have to find a way to win in that situation though, and Dyche can’t.

You mean lindstrom that was wanted by a lot of teams when in Germany, a lot of good teams. Chose Napoli and didn’t workout, it happens. The same Ndiaye; there clearly technically good players that will be no use at all if the setup is pure pragmatic. But we’ll never know because defence comes first

Put prime Ronaldo under him and he’d be expected to track back.

His record shows it, his 10 years in the PL shows it, awful goal return and awful points retur. There is no difference to us and how he played at Burnley.
While I agree with your wider point, I dont agree at all with the Lindstrom and Ndiaye point. The difference in quality between those 2 players looks enormous.

Guy has been relegated twice but he’s a survival specialist 🙃
One of my favourite defenses of him is that the second time wasn't on him. Even though the caretaker who replaced him oversaw a significant upturn in their results and was really relegated because the hole Dyche dug was far too deep to get out of even with that upturn.
