2024/25 Sean Dyche

I'm just pointing out that we were naff at the start of last season too and ended up being more than fine by the end of it.
Even though we were losing games at the start of last season we were at least competitive in them. That can't be said of this season. We've only looked competitive in the Bournemouth game (we were lucky to only lose by one goal against Villa, imo). I'm not sure you can simply transpose last season over this season and expect the exact same pattern of outcomes.

What we talking about then 7 games in? As you will get that in the next 3 weeks.

Dyche will not change, I think fans need to remember, Dyche was sacked by Burnley for only winning 3 games in 30 so he doesn't have a good record.

Oh yes he also went 4 months last season with us, without wining as well so maybe it's not just the 4 you are saying, it's certainly not knee jerk

Could win a game or two? Who knows. We were on 1 point this time last season

And of course it's not kneejerk, not saying it is. Just trying to not allow the fear to consume me.

Keeping Dyche is giving ourselves a glass ceiling for sure. It's situated at around 15th position in the PL.
Dyche is on borrowed time. He will be going sooner or later. But to replace him with Moyes tells you that Evertonian aspirations will never rise above plucky attendance at gunfights armed with cutlery.

If Moyes managed Newcastle instead of Everton all of those years, literally no one would be calling for him to be manager of Everton now.

It's about trajectory. Can he fix our defensive issues? Potentially. Is there any evidence that is currently happening? Not really. Given that the stats on all other aspects of the game under Mr Dyche are underwhelming, then he'll really have to sort the defence out and soon. You accuse me of ignoring the positives, which may be true, but a negative that you seem to be ignoring is that Sean Dyche averages one goal scored per game over his entire career. That's fine (I mean not really, but it's where we are) if you have a strong, reliable defence but if you don't it's a big problem. How long do we give him to fix the defence? Another 3 games? Another 6? Until Christmas? I appreciate that you believe he will fix it but how soon is soon enough?

I haven't ignored those negatives but put them into perspective of what the instruction from the clubs hierarchy is - stay in the league.

How long to give him? Said before until there's a point he as a manager can't come back from but enough for someone else to inject some life into it. Benitez and Lampard got until Xmas/January. This point last season we were on 1 point. End of November we were on 20 until a 10 point deduction.

Can turn around quick

It can turn around quick as you say .
And it can also continue in the current direction of travel .
There are no guarantees at this point .
His last season at Burnley is stark reminder of how the narrow margins his teams survive on can fail to be sufficient.
Too many 1-0’s become 1-1’s and too many 1-1’s become 1-3.
Fine margins , and the sooner you change the longer the new manager has to correct the direction.
Right I’d change because he and the team look lost to me , lacking direction , leadership and accountability.
