2024/25 Sean Dyche

It was fair to give him the chance to prove after this good ending. I couldn't justify a sacking during the summer break this time, if so we should have done that after the Bournemouth game latest in spring.

But now it's the 2nd bad start to a season + the winless streak, these are 3 strikes to think about a change, alarming signs like in-game management worse it.

He should have been gone after the first 6 months in that first summer. We should have thanked him and moved on from him. I said it then as well as was really on the fence about us keeping him, his in game management was poor, his style was poor, and none of that has changed. But that summer, all the same rhetoric that was used about Lampard was being used and we should have learned from that. (Ie now safe, he can build, he can develop the style etc which I myself was guilty of)

Ultimately, we are still circling the drain and still look appalling tactically with him looking devoid of any real ideas.

After that first 6 months, we knew what we had and what we would get. And he has proven that.

I've said for a long time. It was dreadful to give him 2,5y of contact, should have been 6 months + 1y option maybe at highest. And as long as TGF doesn't come he seems not to go anywhere, as it's rumored he gets 2y of salaries as pay off.

Edit: He still seems to have credit from Kev, maybe 2 high defeats would change that against NU and Palace.

But in no way despite the growing dislike of me towards Dyche, I hope Everton to lose them just that Dyche is no longer here.

Yeah, it was a great run of 6 games.

The one before it was a bit crap though.

We genuinely won against Burnley in December and then didn't win again until we played Burnley again, 4 months later.

The current run basically means we've not won in the league since May 11th also.

Not arguing any of that

My original point was that we finished last season strongly, which we did & you seem to agree with?

Yeah, we did. But a season is longer than the 6 games at the end - the early part was hit-or-miss as expected and then the middle part we were absolutely the worst team in the league, for ~4 months.

Glad we kicked on finally as if we hadn't we'd probably be down, and that would be down in a huge part to the manager's stubbornness. He's dragging the same narrative with him this year too and just carried on the form from the majority of last year to this.

You can praise a certain situation and still point out the obvious failings of the overall picture, basically.

He's also an atrocious manager who keeps looking for excuses, no idea how this "man's man" image came about as he's one of the biggest cowards, both in mentality and for taking responsibility.

If know it sounds bad but I don't want to win against Palace, because it's just a false dawn. If we win people will say, "he got a draw at Leicester and we've won at Palace he's turning it round". Then it will go back to same old, same old. We had perfect chance to sack him after Southampton, yet didn't take it. Now I fear if we beat Palace we will be stuck with him.

I understand the dislike towards Dyche, but this inner attitude is as bad as thinking this club is 1 point better than 18th spot in the table. Hate the players, hate the managers, hate the people leading the club, but in the end always wish the best for the clubs. We need results, and if it's Dyche or not, I don't care. Get them.

We need to win mate.

Trouble is, there’s been no one in charge since Kenwright got ill and Usmanov got sanctioned.

Dyche got us safe that first season and was likely to do the same again, which he did in the face of the points deductions. All the accusations levelled at him at Burnley - defensive teams, ugly football, favourites, crap substitutions, etc - still stand, but who was going to make a major decision about turfing him out when he was pretty much nailed on to continue like that?

He’s not going anywhere until there’s someone running the club again.

I know what your saying, but I can tolerate managers not being good enough like Martinez, but he was a decent man. Dyche is an arrogant nob, who continually belittles Everton and our fans.
