...In your neck of the woods right now on business. Never been up this way before. Really nice.

Seattle is the shizzle.

Best city in the USA.

Make sure you hit the Seattle Center and the EMP. And go see Bruce Lee's grave.....and check out MS HQ in Redmond.

I know you don't drink, but visit one of the bars at night....the live music is spectacular and they have really good atmospheres....clean, friendly and lots of fun.

I wish I could but meetings in the morning then fly out after lunch.

I definitely see me bringing the family sometime. Boeing's museum is here too and I'm an airline buff.

Apparently, in Washington (state) there is a really wacky absurd law I read, it's so weird I wondered if anyone could back me up on this.

Those who know it already will need no further info.

There are a number of :lol::o , laws in certain US states, but the Washington one takes the cake, I can't believe it's true and need anyone from that area to verfiy.

The weather was a little suspect today, but glad you're enjoying yourself. We're in that part of the year where summer and fall are waging a schizophrenic war on alternating days.

You downtown? Let me know if you need any dinner recommendations if you're staying longer than today.

I guess I should have read your whole post before offering dinner suggestions.

Next time you make it out here, take a ferry ride to Bainbridge and back to get the western skyline view. Also Kerry Park on Queen Anne has a fantastic view of the city. You could still conceivably do that tonight - it's no more than two miles north of downtown. I used to walk to work downtown when I lived around there.

If you like books you have to go to Elliott Bay Book Store in Pioneer Square. I could lose days in there. It's amazing.

I love this city and am glad you're finding it to your liking. If you're into mountains and water it's the place to be.

Used to date a girl who lived on Bainbridge Island.

So, SeattleToffee, you born and raised there, or you, like me, just have the good fortune to move to the area (although I have left :( )

Born in Edmonds, raised in University Place. If you golf, Chambers Bay is a new course that will be hosting the US Open in 2015. That course is only a quarter mile from the house I grew up in. It's gorgeous, public, but sparsely used for some reason (probably the $150+ greens fees).

Moved to Seattle in 1998 to go to the University of Washington, and have lived here ever since. Currently in Greenlake - but I've lived in Lower Queen Anne, Central District, and U-District. LQA was my favorite. I would love to get a house there some day, but that's hundreds of thousands of dollars in the future.

So Puget Sound born and bred. Love it here.

Talking of wierd laws...theres one that affects people from Chester...Apparently it's still legal to hunt welshmen with a crossbow in chester but only after dusk!

Got a chance to eat at Lola (saw it on TV) and then walked down to do the obligatory visit to the Pike Street Market. Really loved it.

The downtown in Seattle is very nice. Lots of shops and restaurants. Had great weather too while I was there.

I plan on trying to make it back soon.
