Semifinals: France vs Belgium

Figure we might as well start talking about this one in one place.

For me this is a toss of the coin. Two of the elites in today's World Football. There is a good chance that this will be viewed as the actual Final depending on how it all plays out.

I can't see France playing into Belgium's counter attacking strength. France never really let Uruguay in the game but Cavani's absense can't be shrugged off either. Mbappe looks like the real deal even if he fails to score 23 goals at this tournament @MarcelsGoat. Griezmann, Pogba, and a host of others are top notch players. I remember a time when Varane was mentioned in our transfer threads hahaha.

Belgium played a, dare I say, phenomenal first half (albeit with some shaky moments), followed by a second half where Brazil scored, lumped on a load of pressure (and should have equalized), but in the end Belgium saw it out. A bit of luck, a bit of skill, and a bit of gamesmanship saw them the victors. I feel like we know their top talent better because of where they play.

So anyway here we are...two of the best facing off for a spot in the finals.

Can't wait.

Oh, and for the record, I am on the Belgian side of this coin flip by not much more than a coin flip.

The way I see it we have Rom, Felli, and Roberto as actors in this would be drama. Witsel was ours at one point too haha. Felli and Rom doing well as United and former Everton players has to be a wind up factor for the kopites as well.

We have no actual ties to this French squad other than a few tenuous rumors.

The Martinez hate shone strong though in the Belgies win over those kopites from South America so I expect to be in the minority.

I'll be hoping for Belgium. My joy in seeing chief fraud donkey Lukaku fail is trumped by my desire to see Fellaini and Martinez stick two fingers up at the clueless armchair commandos

We're watching the next World Cup winners here. France are just going to get the job done. They have mental and physical reserves beyond any team left. This is the final imo. France wont be tested as much again.

I’m sure if England do somehow get to the final he will happily support either a Martinez team or France!

Desperate for France to win this, I think as far as England goes it might easier to play Belgium again but I just want Belgium out ASAP.
They have rode there luck a bit, Japan should of seen them off and Brazil badly let themselves down, France are definatly the better side, but England can beat either of then
