John from Bootle
Player Valuation: £15m
In my opinion, it just doesn't work. I don't understand how we find ourselves in a postion where players who are unwanted, but happen to be injured during a transfer window, can then not be moved on for months on end.
I understand the purpose of the window rule is to allow clubs and managers a bit of assurance, but why have we adopted this one size fits all system?
A few simple rule changes within UEFA leagues would stop a lot of clubs being saddled with players they don't want, and no doubt get a few players the football they want.
Squad registration should be more fluid. If a player has not been registered as part of the 25 man playing squad for his domestic league, then that player can move on a permanent transfer or loan to any club, outside of the window, who is not in the same league or european competition(s). As an unregisterd player, the player is free to register for his new club. Players out of contract can do this.
I also reckon you should be able to loan or flog or loan anybody, at any time, to domestic clubs who are in any league that is two divisions or more below that of the selling club.
It's madness the current system. Once again, those making the decisions threw the baby out with the bath water.
So, thoughts? Should the current rules be left as they are?
