I was at Port Sunlight feta on Sunday and in Hulme Hall there was a flea market, thought I'd have a mosy see what I could salvage from the hoard of [Poor language removed] that old people keep.

Anyway, stumbed on this stall where this guy was selling football memoribilia, mainly Everton but some Liverpool and Tranmere. It was mainly programs and stickers. I decided that its not worth getting one program for a quid, even if it is old, I would rather have the whole collection.

As I passed the stall a second time (yes it was that rivetting in there), I noticed a program and a ticket from Hillsborough semi-final match. I couldn't decide whether it was sick or not, or should I have bought it and cashed in on eBay? Joking, but I thought it was a little sick to be selling that ticket. People don't sell tickets that were salvaged from a plane crash do they?

Much as I despise the club I class someone cashing in on that type of thing as SICK, too many families get hurt and devastated when tragedy hits them and I honestly would wish that on no-one. I also lost a friend at that game as many people did. At the end of the day the sport is a sport and no-one should lose their lives over it or have pain brought upon them in that manner.

It depends, if it was being hyped and sold specifically on that basis. it is a sad point in british sport, but a historical event non the less.

I can see the worth in collectors buying it to complete or add to a collection purely on the fact it was a fa cup semi final etc.

But selling it as a lone item, is surely playing on the tragedy itself!

They are not that rare so you wouldn't have made much anyway although I do agree with the sentiment here, let that matter go it hurts too many innocent people

Yes mate. Profiteering (even in a small way) would be wrong over what happened there.

No worse than people selling tickets from the titanic(Some guy was made quite rich recently by that) or stuff from WWII.

It marks an occasion, a major event in many peoples lives. Its not a nice event but memorable nonetheless. Collectable (by the right people), probably.

Mate, not by scousers it isnt.

That date marks the manslaughter of 96 innocent fans.

And those responsible have not been brought to justice.

agreed.

Lock and maybe delete this thread please. Freedom of speech is one thing but dragging up painful memories is another. Sorry if that offends anyone but this is too personal to myself and others.

the titanic was 1912, i would be suprised if many involved at the time are still with us.

hillsborough is very recent history

96 innocents

96 football supporters

RIP
