Silly Season January 2014

I think McGeady is a player who will come in dying to prove himself in the Prem League as he has been out of sight for a while, and knows this. I would be worried, like many here, that ultimately we would look back at a player who got us off our seats with skill/speed sometimes but sat us back down with a groan as another cross/shot goes wrong.......but I just have a feeling this would be the right move at the right time for him and us.

Personally I can't see us been to busy in January, I think we'll sign someone but I can't see it been someone who will walk straight into the starting XI. It will be a cheaper player for rotations, a youngster from a lower league or a lower standard European League.

I can't see Baines going so I don't think we will need to find a replacement for him and I can't see us addressing our striker problems unless we sell Jelavic. I would love us to sign Bruno Martins-Indi but if the rumors are true I can't see us going for him until the summer window.

I think we will be really active on the market. I would expect Naismith, Jelavic and Heitinga will go. And we will buy McGeady and a new striker and we will take Donovan on a loan as well after recent news in media.

Yeah don't see much happening myself tbh. Certainly don't think we will be making any big signings. Maybe a loan, maybe 1 or 2 cheap squad additions. Maybe martins indi IF we really were in for him in the summer and others force us into action come jan.

I do have a strong feeling he will go for McGeady unfortunately. Just because he's a different type of winger.

Just get defour in and i will be happy, honestly dont know enough about forign cb's to make a call their although its obvious we need one unless alcarez stays fit and proves his worth, Use the last loan spot to get another lid from the barca reserves, all said and done bringing in good technical players will only help our own young lids develop that side of the game

Taking Into Account our Pre-Requesites, Finances, Martinez Comments...and the fact there is a serious lack of lists available of players who will be playing in the 2014 world cup and not in their teams starting 11 (which i might put together if i get any more stoned/bored pre- stoke match)

these are some available talents i'd like to see us in for...
Saido Berahino - excellent for west brom and would fit in with lowering our average team age...martinez likes his young stars
Adrien Lopez -obviously going to skyrocket in price if Falcao ends up joining Chelsea...however cracking reliable striker
Gaston Ramirez - not seeing eye to eye with Mauricio Pochettino great attacking midfield option
Dieego Capel -super fast winger from Sporting Lisbon (great replacement for ageing Pienaar)
Yann M'Vila- has been much covered on here would be a great signing
Yoann Gourcuff - perfect playmaker for the martinez style
Jolean Lescott - his time is up at City...could he replace Distin come the big fellas retirement?
Iker Muniain- the next messi....left wing maestro....definatly my pick of the bucnh and a possible shot with Martinez espanyol connections
Tom Inceend of contract, been discussed many times....class winger
Koke 16 million release clause....on par with neymar for assists....BOSS

a few options (y) crack on boberto

Martinez has stated yesterday he'll be active in January. That the business done will be additions at the edge of the squad to beef it out a bit. That makes sense, because those on the periphery of the first team now aren't really going to find favour or put pressure on first teamers, despite Martinez's nice words talking them all up. Heitinga/Jelavic/Hibbert/Oviedo/Gueye/Velios - never getting a game unlike, say, Naismith who he'll see as handy for 20 minutes or so. We need an upgrade of one or two (or three) on that lot so the long haul to April is more manageable. I dont think the club will want the extra wages, so he'll probably need to shift a couple out first.

Really think we should be looking at Shane Long. Contract up at the end of the season (though he does have an extra year optional) and he almost went to Hull last day of the summer for £5m. If we can pick him up for around £3m then he's a better option than Jelavic or Kone.

problem with a few of those though mate that makes them completely unrealistic targets and a waste of time

Muniain is on the radar for all the big clubs, only reason he's still at bilbao is the fact they never ever have to sell due to their financial strength and youth policy and buying policies. If he does leave it will be either at the end of his contract on a free or for a ridiculous amount of money to the likes of barca city etc, dunno what a espanyol connection for martinez will have to do with him getting in a player from bilbao like though, ^^

Tom Ince - bad bellend, dads a bad bellend and a former rs, thw wrong sort of character vto have at everton and a bad influence for all the younger players to have around imo

Koke - If its the one i think your talking about, the lid at athlethico mate, hes valued at 20m+ is 21 regarded as one of spains rising stars, and playing for the 3rd biggest club in spain atm, why on earth would they sell to us and how on earth would we be able to afford the fee for him

Lescott - why replace a aging defended with one whose 32 before the start of the next season, need someone who has more than 1 or 2 years left in them as distans replacement imo

Capel - on the radar for a lot of european clubs including arse etc, would cost in the region of 10m +, good player like, just dunno where we are gonna find that type of money from though especially with othe rinterest the price will likely go higher, specially as porto dont sell cheap

Ramires - southampton payed 12m for him only last year, doubt theyd take much less than what they paid for him

Gourcouff - they payed 22m for him even out of favour your still looking at 10m+ for him mate

Yann M'Vila - valued at something like 15m + with a lot of other interested teams, out of the price range for us

Don't get me wrong mate i'd love some of those name to be here but just don't see how on earth their possible, my own choice of steven defour - even he i think is gonna end up out of our price and unrealistic
