Striker. No question for me.

There is no alternative to Lukaku apart from shifting Mirallas there - and then we are hoping against hope Deulofeu delivers consistently and that both he and Pienaar stay fit.

I think Martinez might actually go for McGeady and feel he then has numbers out wide to look upon Mirallas realistically as a second half of the season striker should something happen to Lukaku. If he does that then he can wait until the summer and see what needs to be done next season and beyond striker-wise.

Yeah...never had to worry about really as lukakau has been great, but if injured we would be in trouble...still think an upgrade on distin would be good

I think Martinez would see Alcarez/Jagielka/Stones/Distin/Heitinga (if he stays) as CB well covered, for now at least.

Midfield, depending on how near Gibson might be to a comeback after the New Year, we might get away with CM as we can also reshuffle a bit with Osman and also Barkley playing deeper (though JM and GB staying fit will be crucial to our progress). Out wide we could do with strengthening and (as per the point made about Mirallas) avoid needing to buy another striker in January. I think he might be reluctant to spend out on another one right now too.

We need a CM, a Winger and a Striker. Whether we should get them all in January or wait until the summer is a different matter. I, like some of you, am of the opinion we should buy a Striker now as backup to Lukaku but with the potential to take over Lukaku next season. The problem is you can rarely get a good player for value during January unless their contracts are running out. That's why maybe we would be smart to get one or two bargains in January like McGeady, Ince or Fernando (all could be available for 5M or so) whose contracts run out in the summer and then wait until the summer to get Lukakus replacement.

get fernando in mate, add defour in too the imo, get them both for around 12m, would make our midfield amongst the very best in the league

Why on EARTH would Fiorentina want him? They're packed with quality players and will be pushing for a CL spot in Serie A. Have they not seen him play in 2 years??

He's according to reports and i do know a fair few porto fans, a 'box to box' midfielder mate, kinda a toure/vierra type but not as good obviously
