Player Valuation: £50m
Johnny Stones to keep his place on merit, or the Jag to come back in as he's Captain?

Former for me - he's been outstanding for a player of his age, and his distribution is the best of all the centre backs we have and RM's system relies on decent control, passing and movement starting at the back.

Got told at the match last night that Roberto has said the latter will occur due to Stones' 'physicality'....anyone point me in the right direction where that was mentioned?

I like the Distin Stones combination and part of the reason i think is how it mirrors Barry McCarthy in midfield. One sitting behind and sweeping up with positioning skills and experience, the other winning the ball and looking to convert swiftly into attack.
My way of thinking would keep Stones in the team whilst his form is as good as it is, possibly bringing in Jags for Distin.

To be honest I think it would be really harsh to drop anyone based on one game, although I would like a sample of the future of the club for the next 3/4 years and that prob wont include Distin, so yes Stones and Jagielka would be good to see.

Think it was in the press conference just before Palace, here is the Echo's take on it http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...ws/everton-fcs-martinez-says-jagielka-6990402

"John Stones has been phenomenal. I don't think his position in the team is going to be based on other players coming back or not. It's going to be based on how he feels and how his body is coping with this new experience.

Personally if fit would give Jags a couple of games back with his usual partner Distin. Then move Jags over to Distin's position where he will play in the world cup anyway and use Stones in the last couple of games

Yeah give Distin a break, as he needs a rest playing all games since Jags has been out.

If it works well leave Jags and Stones for the Southampton game too.

For the Southampton game, I think we should play Gibson and Barry (see how Gibson does, then put McCarthy on, as Barry cannot play against City).

Barkley cannot play the holding midfielder role (as he did against Palace), he did not defender and it caused us all sort of problems.

In fairness though maybe it isnt wise swapping players about while we still have important games coming, because as we seen the other day, it can backfire.
