Surprising that you would break it down completely into commercial elements: you're already thinking like an American fan. I don't care how naive or sycophantic people think this is, because I'm pretty sure it's genuine - but Donovan had never before experienced anything like his time at Everton. Sure, theres crowds for MLS games. Plenty, in fact, for LA Galaxy. But you can't compare it. A professional league barely 20 years old comprising one divison (therefore no relegation/promotion) in which 'host cities' are allocated, purely for commcerical reasons, licenses to create new teams. The current format has to be seen to be believed, it's utterly comical:

At the end of the regular season, the team with the highest point total is awarded the Supporters' Shield. The regular season is followed by the 10-team MLS Cup Playoffs ending with the MLS Cup championship final

Compare that to Everton... how he could he not be taken aback? I think he was completely awed by the history, the tradition, the prestige, the support, the meaningfulness of it all: Everton is in people's blood here. It's been in their blood for generations. The ground swells with noise and fervour, the adrenaline, the roar, the intensity, the excitement, the stakes, coming out for every match with Z Cars and 30,000+ scousers roaring.

It doesn't matter that he was only temporarily 'employed' or isn't employed any longer, because to the players that pull on the royal blue jersey it should be more than just a job. It should take hold of you. It's an honour all-too-rarely appreciated by modern players. They say the influx of foreign players hasn't helped either, apparently they're the worst.
But here seems an American who understands the importance of Everton and just how best to conduct yourself when showing how important it is better than an apparent fan. Shame on you, lad.

I remember about this time last year lcab told us all Pienaar would be back on loan, he was right as usual.

Lcab has also said a billion times Landon would be back for december time.

So please stop debating the inevitable once again..
 

Hes been superb tonight hasnt he phxtoffee, Only bad thing is that he should have a goal to his name too, maybe two... Dan Kennedy, the Chivas goalie has been fantastic though.
 
If not for Kennedy, that would've been about a 7-0 Galaxy win. Hard to say a keeper had a great game in a 4-0 loss, but he made some fantastic saves.

Without Dan Kennedy, Landon would have had 4 assists and two goals tonight. With his 4 assists he now tops the league and is 4th all time with 105.

His playmaking in the last 3 years has really hit a new level. Can't wait to see him here. (And now I'm seriously wondering where we play him, because as a striker he really has looked stellar these last few months. Hope Naismith is good, because if he is, we suddenly have options).

Less than he would have been a few years ago.

I'd guess 4-5M GBP to get him over to Everton permanently. I'd say that's a reasonable amount for a player at his age and mileage.
