Let's have a real Christmas tree this year she says. 55 quid later and a car full of pine needles and it's up. Only paid £8 for the last one before lockdown I'm sure. Wouldn't mind but it's shaped like a bobbies helmet now the netting is off. Rant over

Used to absolutely love going to Delamere Forest as a kid to get a tree. One of my favourite memories in fact. I always wanted to throw myself into that netting machine the trees went through.

If you get a real tree, put it in a pot of boiled water to stop all the sap from leaking everywhere.

Then a 6ft tree needs about 500ml of water a day to keep it fresh.
