For anyone worrying about us starting with no wingers, we're actually playing a system that suits it.

I'd much rather go a 4-4-2 diamond with 4 CMs playing as CMs as opposed to playing 4-2-3-1 with a CM playing out wide.

With those players surely it has to be a 4-4-2 with a diamond in midfield?

It's all very well trying something different, but it needs to be because it's the best line up for the players against the team they are playing against. Not just for the sake of it.

And as always, it's not the line up or the formation which is the main problem, it's the way we play with those players in those formations that matter.

At least we can't be worse than last year.

I think it'll be a form of 4-3-3. Lukaku and Kone will drift wide in the build up when needed and Barkley will be given free reign in the hole.

Lot depends on Coleman today I reckon.

That said, we'll probably play the same formation with Cleverley and Kone as wingers or something haha
