Spirit of Shankly night rally

******* Vermin

Shankley must be turning in his grave

Were they chanting Munich ?

Yes mate.

Now I know we all have an element of that in our support, but the difference here is this Spirit of Shankly crew are an 'official unofficial' fans organisation, if you catch my drift, the darlings of the local 'embedded' press who try to stay onside of them by preaching how 'grassroots' they are - "the Real Liverpool" sort of thing. This lot place themselves on a pedestal as a paragon of virtue - defenders of the idealism of football in our corportate times. Now we know what they mean by that: a return to the days of no holds barred hooliganism where dead footballers are fair game to rip the piss out of.

I hear what you are saying RS but... when do the customers have any right to determine who owns the business they choose to spend their money in? Strange lot them Gobsh*tes!!

Good point Davek

At Old Trafford this year they had a blow up aeroplane and sang their runway song EN MASSE on the concourse

This only weeks before the anniversary of the Hillsboro Tragedy
It beggars belief

Believe me we have some absolute low life in our support but in my experience as a match going United fan we have never sung songs about Hillsboro en masse . You will unfortunately get some dickheads who do but never en masse. Those who have tried it in my presence have been sorted out

Anyway some of my 'experiences' over the years

ALL of Anfield singing munich songs
The Kop doing aeroplanes
The Munich 58 banner on the Kop
ALL those flags mocking Munich at Heysel in '85
39 dead Italians and how they tried to blame everyone but themselves
The giant FC Bayern München flag at Anfield in 1999
Them breaking the silence in honour of Georgie Best
Alan Smiths ambulance being attacked

Just a few of a long list

Oh deary me . Now I hate United but if I was there I would just walk out simply because its so cringeworthy that it defies belief . How old is that bloke on stage ? First class knobheads

What finally clinched it for me with that lot was Athens in 2007. Never mind United, when you can grab a ticket off your own and pack a stadium full to the gunnels with their history - that demands a very special kind of mentality. Then they blame Uefa's William Gaillard for telling the truth. Unbelievable.

That Spirit of Shankly 'apology' is a joke. To think these people want a fan on the board as their ultimate aim. You can just imagine it cant you:

Chairman: 'any more business gentleman?'

Spirit of Shankly rep: 'yes, Mr Chairman, we propose not to play those Munich ****s at Anfield this season, but to hold an inflatable aeroplane competition in the middle of the pitch. It'll be fuuuuukin' soundddd, la'.

As for the media, mate, forget it. They've got that lot in their arse pocket.

There is a Liverpool lad at work who openly calls United supporters Munichs . He doesnt really care who hears him which is abit mad as there is a heady mix of people from Manchester and Liverpool at our place including a very naughty ex MIB . Calling someone a Munich is a futile act in the extreme . Using dead people to score points is pathetic , leave that to the RS and Lids .
