Player Valuation: £30m
Barcelona have confirmed that Giovani Dos Santos has signed for Tottenham.

The 19-year-old Mexican international has signed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane and will officially move to White Hart Lane on 1st July.

Spurs will pay an initial 6million euros (£4.7million) for Giovani with the fee possibly rising by another £3.9million depending on appearances.

Barca will retain 20 per cent of the financial rights to any possible transfer of the player during his first two years in North London and ten per cent thereafter.

Giovani, son of former Brazilian international Zizinho, came through the youth ranks at Camp Nou and he has Spanish citizenship so does not require a work-permit to play in England.

The player is currently sidelined after being operated on for a floating bone in his left ankle on May 19th, but is expected to recover within a month.

Tottenham held off stern interest from a number of clubs, including Premier League rivals Manchester City, to seal Giovani's signature.

4.7 Million for one of the world's hottest prospects.... I wonder if Barcelona think he wont cut it.

Could do with copying their youth system considering the midfielders they've unearthed. Arteta, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta, dos Santos, Messi.....

I'll probably be accused of banging on about this, but all of those players are small in stature. I wonder how many would have made it through an English academy? Barca have a habit of playing great football and have an almost Dutch style to playing the game, and it certainly shows in the talent they produce. Obviously they have the brand to attract talent from far and wide, but I can't help but think that we, both Everton and England, are missing a trick.

Yeah I was a bit surprised at the transfer fee, even including the incentives.

I thought he'd go for a bit more than that.

Hey, Spurs in for another striker.

How many do they have now?
