2pts off 4th and in a cup final.

Spurs fans are delusional to turn on him.
I love how often the "____ points off 4th" thing comes out to defend a manager whose team is clearly not playing to expectations. Like clockwork. I think at minimum it has come out for Carlo, Jose, Arteta and Lampard this season. It'll be back next year too.

I still think Mourinho is a top manager but he is not one to abandon the way he wants his teams to play and the Spurs players probably want to be the globetrotters. He needs all his players to bow at the alter of Jose but it would seem most still have posters of Pochettino up in their lockers...or just egos the size of Mourinho's.

I still think he would have done better here as our personnel wouldn't have had the same hangups. Just to be clear I don't want to swap our manager for anyone, just that he was dealt a hospital pass that is making him seem more of a lame duck than he is. Not that he should be exempt from criticism mind you. Unless you have guarantees from the board you'll be allowed time to completely overhaul the team in your image, you have to be able to find a way to keep what you have happy and firing. He is obviously lacking some pragmatism.

At the time of writing they were 2pts off 4th.

Thats over achieving for the squad he has.

Exactly and in fact Pochettino wanted to move on a number of those players but wasnt allowed to.

Theyre still there under Mourinho and i think he'll be hoping for a big clearout this summer to generate some funds.

Will we see the spurs squad rally round Son and let him lead them out at their next game. The media loved the symbolism last time. I expect he'll get a mask made like Gazza, poor lad.

They should let Mourinho build. He’s the only winner at that club. It’s the same with Ancelotti here. Why would organisations who have won nothing for decades, hire a proven winner, then get rid of him after he hasn’t turned around decades of failure within 18 months. It’s crazy. The biggest asset at Spurs now is Mourinho and it’s the same with Ancelotti at Everton. Both sides would be well suited to keeping hold for as long as possible even if there’s some short term pain.

Yeah very fair & if I was in his situation, I have no idea how I would react, but ultimitely he is cutting his own nose off to spite his face. He has enough cash & in 10 years time his regrets will be around his career, not his bank balance
If Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 to validate his talent with trophies then there can be no doubt he has done exactly that. As a Madrid player Bale has won two league titles, one Copa Del Rey, three Club World Cups, two European Super Cups and an absurd four Champions Leagues.

Not a bad trophy cabinet to have
Probably has a few golf trophies as well
He has done more in his career than 99% of professional footballers
