Chicoazul bites back? "Notorius twitter troll"?

From Russia Today:

"According to an account going by the name of Trevor Azul (@thechicoazul) – whose bio claims he is 'Chief European Sport Correspondent' at the Economist – Mourinho was sacked “after an explosive morning where he refused to take [Spurs] players onto the training ground over the club’s proposed Super League admission.”

The playful conjecture soon spread like wildfire on Twitter as Mourinho was hailed as “a hero” for supposedly taking a stand against the much-maligned plans for the new league.

Tagging Azul as the source, assorted Tottenham fan accounts, football bloggers and supporters of all stripes – some with tens of thousands of followers – all shared the news with reckless abandon."

Oohhhhhhhhh thats super.

I've nothing against Spurs, but really struggle to see why they're one of the 'big' six.

They've not won the title for 60 years, not reached an FA Cup final for 30 years, played a few seasons of CL football and only in one of them did they do anything. In Premier League era they've only won a couple of League Cups.

In my time as an Evertonian, we've won more trophies than them.

Tottenham have been long term media darlings, but I fail to see what credentials this lot have to be part of any so-called 'super league'.

It really is ridiculous.

They've been in and around the Top 6 sporadically for the last decade. They've never consistently challenged to win a major honour.

They have a high media profile and a massive new stadium - which they haven't paid for yet. I guess that's what makes them 'elite' laughably so.

I believe I'm correct in saying them, Arsenal and Man City each have the same amount of European honours as we do.

Because they have got into bed with the Americans. They built their new stadium with NFL in mind to help the spread of the sport over here. Of the main players in this new Super League here are 3 of the 4 Vice Chairmen and their American sports interests:

Kroenke: LA Rams/Denver Nuggets

Henry: Boston Red Sox

Glazers: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Levy (and realistically ENIC) want to run Spurs the way those owners run their teams. Profit over performance. The money will be ring fenced and so they don't need to invest to compete. The money comes in anyway
