Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Following on from the out of contract thread, its been noted Sahas contract is up at the end of the season.

Now, ill be surprised the 33 year old gets a new deal. So that leaves us in a pretty dire situation.

With no money to spend, our 1st choice striker being 33 and out of contract, we really don't have much to go on leading to next season.

It'll seem another key player will have to go to fund any striker in the future. Unless there's a masterplan in the works, Cahill, Vellios, and Anichebe seem our front line rolling into 2012-2013.

Hope things change before that, but can't see it.

This might end up being our long term lol Hallem Hope he won't cost us anything but wages yey.....sighs deflatedly

With Neville and Distin getting another one or two in Neville's case, I think Moyes will gladly thrash out a contract for Saha. He is doing the same thing that he blamed previous managers for when he took over. Giving big contracts to players well past their prime with no sell-on value.

Saha won't get a new contract as we can't afford to offer him one. 60k a week? Those days are long gone...get rid of the big players on big contracts, bring in the no marks on cheap deals.

Plus Saha wouldnt want to play in the Championship anyways...

Worst case scenario: we release Saha and McFadden and Straq returns to Argentina, leaving us with just Vellios and Anichebe and no incoming funds for replacements.
