I love all animals the same, they all need loving too you know. Sometimes i express the love i feel towards them, but the Police say ive gotta stop.

I really couldn't stand them back in the day and avoided them at all costs.

Even today Trash came on the radio and i managed about 30 seconds before i had to turn it off so i guess i'm getting more tolerant in my old age.

Fair comment, but this is all about loving Suede, not hating them.

I suppose it was a case of good melodic well written tunes by artistic folk. Or cock holding lyric lifting riff robbing manc [Poor language removed].

But that can be another thread if you like.

been to see 'em a few times live, and was a massive fan until 'coming up' then my interest waned a little.

a good live band but not great.

but the first two albums are class!

yeah the first two albums for me too. Well that's the Butler effect, he goes and so does my interest.

I was lucky enough to see them play live at Empress Ballroom in Blackpool with Butler in the band. I then saw them about 4 or 5 times after that including the Phoenix Festival when they headlined ahead of Bob Dylan, some were a little peeved at that I can tell yer.

I bet!

I seen 'em at the royal court twice once with butler once without, there was a significant difference, but I thought the lad done as well as could be expected to, considering his age and who's shoes he had to fill.

But on the creativity side, he offered nothing like the swooping and arousing movements of music that butler brought to suede.

After butler left, they were a far less interesting 'pop' band.

I saw them at the Royal Court without Butler too. Was that the gig when Brett dived into the crowd and lost his shirt but gained a nose bleed?

it may well; have been the same gig, I didnt see or notice that, tho.

had to split the time between sitting down???? we were with girls who wanted 'seats'??/and going into the standing area and trying to pogo to the more upbeat songs/ and looking after my mate who had too much to drink and smoked too much dope before the gig trying to tell me he was definately, definately, having a heart attack ffs!

It didnt spoil the gig for me cause I still seen 3/4 or more, but if brett stage dived and got a nosebleed this is the first Ive heard of it 15 years later he he.

I can't remember to be honest. I went to another gig at the Royal Court and I had to sit in the stalls at the very back. Got told off loads for getting up and trying to dance. Fuckers.
