...well, World Cup Wednesday was woeful. Here’s Thursday’s Toffee transfer titbits;

- The Mirror and various other outlets say Everton are eyeing a £21m deal for Barcelona Centre Back Yerry Mina before the transfer window closes next month. Get French Football News report Barcelona have activated the €35m release clause of Sevilla defender, Clement Lengelet, and this could hasten Mina’s departure. Mundo Deportivo quote the players agent as saying; ‘it is not true that Yerry has signed for Everton. There are many teams that hold an interest in Yerry, but before we can think about that we need to know what Barcelona plan to do. When we hear from the club we will make a decision’.

- The Liverpool Echo report Everton’s 24 year old defender, Tyias Browning, is seeking another loan move for next season. Browning is currently in La Manga for pre-season training with Everton’s U23 squad.

- According to Sport1, Ante Rebic is being linked with a move away from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 24 year olds Croatian’s stock has risen at the World Cup and Spurs, Everton and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in the £40m rated winger.

- 4th Official continue to link Everton and Arsenal with a move for 29 year old Sevilla midfielder, Steven N’Zonzi.

- TuttoMercarto report Everton have lodged an interest in a Inter Milan midfielder, Joao Mario. The Portuguese international spent part of last season on loan at a West Ham.

there is no Rebic is a 40 million pounds player. It's just mad. He's a good player, but if it was my team, I'd be mortified if they paid anything over 15-20 mill for him. Some of his best attributes are his physicality, directness, work ethic and attitude, but he's very hit and miss on a lot of things - his decision making is pretty bad. But could be improved I suppose. He is in no way a 40 million pounds player. Its mad the fees I see linked to him. Frankfurt though will fight to keep him., they already lost so many key players, they lose him, they'll be in big trouble next season.

I'm not in the slightest concerned about WHU's business.

They should have looked at ours last summer with a cold eye and resolved not to copy our mistakes.

From what they have done so far, they seem more rather than less likely to end up regretting it.

Gold and Sullivan are trying to appease fans and that is never the right reason to embark on a very questionable splurge.

West ham signing Felipe Anderson for 40 mil would be a shocking overpay. I've seen him multiple times and hes bang average. Lazio are desperately trying to sell him while some people still think hes class. Thats the type of terrible signing that walsh would make.

Agree - it's a lot of money. He can be excellent on his day (which isn't very often), but one of the reasons he has been moderately successful in Serie A is the amount of time and space he gets to run at defenders, he won't get that here.

Not one to get excited about transfer rumour as it's a key resource for many print rags, however, with new transfer deadline in practice, it's bit worrying there has been no incomings, particularly on the back line! I know there is sell to buy however, that left side is a real achilles heal...

To be fair let's just see how West Ham do with all their new signings before we write them off. The way I see it at least they are backing their new manager with money and signings, are we ? Last year we were on the whole all made up with most of our signings, that they didn't work out was due to them being the wrong choices. We know the squad has serious deficiencies, we need a centre half, left back and an attacking player. We are yet to make a signing, other teams in the PL have new managers, they have, New players need time to bed in, this is not panicking it's common sense, or does that make me a cry arse or a bedwetter.

..report from Turkey that Onyekuru’s move to Galatasaray has stalled because the Turks want a buy-out option but Everton don’t want that clause included.

There has to be news soon?

Just hoping brands pulls off a masterstroke and signs players none of us would have heard of or considered

To be fair they have not bought a new team of number 10’s lol
