Sadly people just cant give the lad a chance.

If only we had bought him for 40m all those years ago, people might be more willing to judge him.

He’s always been a little bulldog and that’s what I liked about him, didn’t realise he was capable of doing that though. Distribution and reading of the game was absolutely top notch

If he produces another preseason performance like that then I think he’s picked himself for Wolves, and rightly so

Morgan Schneiderlin is a bit of an enigma.

I'd never noticed him before we signed him, he seemed to be one of those players people said was good but went through matches without doing anything spectacular enough to stand out.

He then came in and looked really good, then completely lost his way.

Looking back at his last season at Southampton he lead the league in tackles and interceptions by far. Getting full caps from France, playing 65 passes a game at 90% accuracy and generally running the show.

If he could get back to that role in front of the back 4 then it would solve a lot of our problems - allowing us to pair him with another high energy midfielder and perhaps allowing Dowell/Sigurdsson/the returning Barkley to play the creative role.

The ability is there. Can Silva help him rebuild that confidence, he is still only 28.

Hopefully, but I have my doubts he can maintain that form for a season physically or mentally. I'd have replaced him.

i think with them all being at their lowest values of their careers, sending them all out on loan and hoping they perform is the best way to go anyway. Say if klaassen rediscovered his form abroad, maybe some teams would fancy throwing £15m-£18m at him. His book value in that time may be lower than that in which case we'l have made a weird sort of profit on him?

... maybe.
Perhaps with Klaassen. I'm not confident though. The other two? It was folly to give Mirallas 2 more years when we did. As for Bolasie? We need to get lucky and hope a club takes a punt. More likely a loan though.

He was Boros best player mate.

Infact the Boro fans constantly said he was too good for the Championship, its ok to admit you got it wrong mate, dont feel bad.

Proper their best player I mean we have knocked back so many bids for him...

Can’t believe we have managed to keep hold of him... it’s been really difficult.

A midfield of

Morgan
Gana. Besic

Would be decent protecting the defence but offers little going forward.

Morgan
Davies/Besic. Sig

Has better attacking qualities but again doesn't protect in my view.

Morgan
Gana. Sig

Lacks that player who can drive us up the pitch or pick forward passes.
Every current option has deficiencies. We lack that physical presence whether you keep Besic or not in my view.

I don't want Besic to be first choice just wondering why the midfield links haven't been stronger, I can only think Silva thinks he can work with what he has or we will get someone last minute because that midfield is crap to be frank. I don't feel confident with Morgan being a first teamer either. I suppose he has the distribution for a Silva team if he's arsed but he is weak mentally and physically doesn't protect our defence. Gana does one job very well which is ratting around and winning the ball he's average in possession, can he be a box to box player?I doubt it.
I think that's down to the fact that two of ours were at the wc so that's two Silva has had no time assessing. I'm assuming we'll get Richarlison, Digne, and Mina (or comparable lb and cb) in before August and our cm signing will be as we approach deadline day.

It may have only been a friendly yesterday but he controlled everything. It was a good display for someone who wants to prove himself to a new manager.

He made more of a statement yesterday then the rest put together

He did mate - but he has done this a few times now, he just isn’t built for the prem.

I done the same a few seasons back watched him and thought wow he has actually arrived... but he hadn’t.

That first half was a chance for fringe players to take a claim, he was the only who did, that doesn’t change the fact that he isn’t he answer.

He has always had great passing, I always think that’s been his biggest quality, except he is far to prone to trying the Hollywood ball to Often when he has better options.

He is slower then Barry, in the prem he would be tore a new one.

Hope we've got a decent back up for Mina.

Can't see this one happening, too much cry arsing about wanting to stay at Barca.

He must surely know by now whether they want to keep him.

You watch next day or two a CL team will be in for him and he'll change his tune.

Move on I say, we haven't got the time to hang around.

Shame as I think he's exactly what we need.

Cleaned up at their end of season awards didn’t he?

Oh hang on. Their players and fans thought someone else was better than him
