Sadly people just cant give the lad a chance.

If only we had bought him for 40m all those years ago, people might be more willing to judge him.

He has had plenty of chances mate. I haven’t got the starts and subs but he has played in 56 games for us.. we aren’t talking about someone who hasn’t played.

Admittedly some of them might be a few minutes here and there but fact remains he has had a chance.

Selling Pickford to buy Cech, who is completely finished, and can barely move anymore, is one of the worst shouts I've read this summer.

Let's not sell our best players. Let's not throw more money at players about to retire and looking for a final pay day. Let's keep our young and improving goalkeeper.

Also in what way was Pope unlucky not to play at the WC? I think Pickford proved he's at least a level above.

This page has some of the most clueless posts I've seen all summer!

Sell England's number 1... who could be our keeper for the next 10 years and will only improve. Absolute madness!

Buy Petr Cech, who Arsenal have replaced because he is now a liability! MADNESS

Then followed up by the same person advocating selling Gana! The perfect player for a pressing team. Have you forgotten he out-performed Kante and was the best in the league 2 seasons ago in tackles and interceptions???

Lay off the glue lad!

Is Pope even back with their squad yet?
No. But this sounds intersting from Dyche yesterday regarding GK places:

“The thing with goalkeepers is they do know their own world. They know only one of them can play. They equally know, as Tom knows from last season, how quickly that changes. Sometimes it changes quickly. Other times it doesn’t change for a long time. Popey’ has been given a bit of extra time off and he’ll be here next week, but Tom is a great servant and a great goalkeeper. So we will monitor that accordingly.”

Dyche is obviously not stuoid thinking a club like Burnley can hold onto two first team GKs. Either one would be a very decent replacement for us.

Yeah and in those 56 games hes played badly twice, once versus Arsenal and once were he played against Martial at RB and got utterly destroyed.

Other than that, hes been MOTM in the other 54 games.

Shut up

He has always had great passing, I always think that’s been his biggest quality, except he is far to prone to trying the Hollywood ball to Often when he has better options.

He is slower then Barry, in the prem he would be tore a new one.

No way is he slower than Barry. He gets about the pitch quite well

A midfield of

Morgan
Gana. Besic

Would be decent protecting the defence but offers little going forward.

Morgan
Davies/Besic. Sig

Has better attacking qualities but again doesn't protect in my view.

Morgan
Gana. Sig

Lacks that player who can drive us up the pitch or pick forward passes.
Every current option has deficiencies. We lack that physical presence whether you keep Besic or not in my view.

Besic
Davies Sig

Get the ballers out there rather than the crabs.
