Equally, Everton value McCarthy at around £20m to £25m as they want to use the funds towards signing Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea.

Everton face competition from Leicester City for Sigurdsson which will only help Swansea drive up the asking price to £35m.

Worrying times. From Simon Jones in mail. Is the reliable?

That's possible but I will be extremely interested in seeing how the hard ball approach with RL will work when the roles are reversed. What I am getting out is how much over the odds will clubs demand if Everton get anywhere near what is being suggested as RL fee.
Sell RL for say £80millin but find then the price for the likes of Traore isn't £17 but £25 million or north. I know some would say walk away but the exact same position will crop up just about every time a club puts a valuation on a player wanted by Everton.

They will know we have money sell to buying.

So can't blow teams out the water and can afford to pay big for one big player to appease fans, that's how bolasie was signed to keep the big money myth alive. We've been had off.

My real worry is when we know from before season ended Lukaku wants off as his head was turned when costa went on a drought.

My worry is that we have had since then and are scrambling around like amateur's by not paying over the odds and that's how we bridge top 6.

Now that can be down to Walsh Elstone Bill or the money from Moshiri not being there, like they're scared to ask him.

We pretended Enner was Hazard for 6 months for running around, the Echo said that we was in talks with West Ham for weeks but couldn't match their asking price. The Mail also said we have to fund Mccarthy Sale for Siggy.
Worrying..

The club is even waiting a month so they can save a months wages on Cuco Martina.

Jesus Christ lad, get a bird ffs. If you've got one, learn how to smash her properly

Anybody who has a problem with selling McCarthy and buying Sigurdsson for 10 mil more-essentially McCarthy + 10 mil for Sigurdsson- is either delusional or not an Everton fan.

This is why we have to do most of our business prior to selling Rom. I don't believe our board would be stupid enough to let him go before the replacements are in

Simon Jones is the mails rumour spinner... no contacts etc just pieces other rumours together for clicks on their website

Traore? There's a few of them floating about but the most recent mention concerned the bloke on Chelsea's books who's from Burkina Faso (which translates as 'land of the incorruptible/honest).
I've never seen him play so cannot offer opinion on him

Taken from the Sandro thread on TEF.....

I know we should take things like that with a pinch of salt but sometimes he does get good info that's spot on, and granted, he gets things wrong, so we'll see?! But surely we need to trigger his release clause before we can talk to the player? And I thought terms were already agreed through his agent and it was a matter of waiting on Sandro to decide where he wanted to go?!

He works for the club in some form or another, out of all the ITKs I'd say his info would be quite close to the truth. Think people get a bit to carried away when deals don't come off, I'm sure we're speaking to loads of representatives

Ahhh he owes us a left back still though.

So much guff on here.

I'll add to it with my opinion that it'll be a long window - I'm optimistic we will resolve some of the issues but it is outrageous to think we will get everything sorted. Personally think it's wise that the acquisitions take time to ensure we get the right players in.

I also think it's wise waiting until Lukaku goes, we could go out and splurge on a player and cause disharmony if we don't get fee we want and be left with a player left on the bench playing a small part on large wages. We are a business, we need to ensure we spend wisely especially with so many areas of the team needing of improvement. It's the only way we can catch the teams above us.

There's a team in place who will look to acquire players let's leave it up to them and accept it'll take time.

I don't think Ross and to some extent Rom, have done anything to make us an attractive proposition to possible targets. Their behavior in my opinion makes us a 'barge pole' club.
