Everyone knows Usain Bolt would make the greatest footballer in the world

To be fair, the pace concerns are justified, a little, we do seem to be collecting players with little pace, but none of them are Berba slow.

And we do already have a few pacey players Lennon if he catches some form, Lookman isnt slow, even Tom Davies and Klaassen are both able to drive with the ball at pace, Sandro doesnt look slow. We wont be playing counter attacking football, we will be playing pressing football.

There isnt a player in the world who can run faster than a well placed pass.

I'll be honest with you Gana was sensational before the ACON, but looked jaded slightly upon his return. Yesterday he was all over the pitch, as we remember from the start of the last season. Looking forward to see him surrrounded by our new players this season.

He wasn't very good the last quarter of the season, probably because of ACON disruption. Schneiderlin reads the game so well, in games where we are chasing the game you can see why Gueye would be one of the first replaced.

He's unreal on his day at what he does, but if we are chasing a game late on he likely gets replaced, like he did for Davies last season. Spending 25m on Klaassen amd potentially way more on Sigi you'd think they'd be both squeezed into the first 11.

I'd forget all about Martina and try and get one of the PSG right backs on loan. Dani Alves will be the obvious first choice, leaving Meunier and Aurier picking splinters out of their backsides in the months prior to a World Cup.

If Koeman isn't willing to put Kenny in from the off, then these two are the types of full back we need to be in for until Coleman gets back.

I agree, to prove the point. Sorry to refer to our neighbours, but their front three of firmino, Coutinho and lallana that finished the season, aren't blessed with great pace but are able to press effectively. Mane is the one with the serious pace.

I wouldnt sign Besic in his current "state" and if I didnt love him dearly I would be wanting rid!

And then when Coleman comes back we have 2 good full backs to compete for 1 space? Nice idea, but where does that leave JJ Kenny? Certainly not at Everton competing for a spot in the first team.

Where as signing Martina provides cover for the younger lads and when Coleman returns he provides squad cover, meanwhile Kenny has 6months to leave a mark.

Fair play. I knew of the injuries at City, but didn't realize it had continued for him at Schalke. All said, there is a good player there when fit. If bought at a bargain I wouldn't be oppose.

Cover in every position is a strange concept. It goes against the Total Football idea, no?

Players at this level should be able to fill in various positions.

I suggested taking either of them on loan. Get Kenny a full season on loan in the Championship to get some experience.

Yeah, I agree, I've said previous about how we could do with another pacey attacker who importantly brings a dimension we don't have. Like you said we have pace in the squad, and I do think depending on how his recovery on the pitch goes Bolasie will continue to play a part. We did suffer from his injury last year.

And again we have players who can press, Ron has addressed this, and with Sigurdsson you have another player who works hard. One half of pressing is the fitness but the other is being intelligent enough to know when to press and close down, and the game management side of it. Koeman has addressed this well with players who should link up nicely.

In theory you have players like Sigurdsson pressing and spraying passes, Klaassen managing the game in the final third and Sandro who looks to hold the ball up make runs and create space rather well. Then Rooney and our awaited striker finding said space.
