Whilst Swansea are seeking a replacement for Sigurdsson, the player of interest can also play o the left-wing, offering the Swans pace down the left-hand side.

Viera burst on to the scene back in 2010 where he scored 16 times in 60 games for Las Palmas and his performances earned him a move to La Liga giants Valencia in 2012, signing for €2.5 million.

His move to Valencia didn’t go as planned though and he was loaned out to Rayo Vallecano a year later, before being sold to Standard Liege, where he mae just seven competitive appearances.

The 27 year-old who played alongside Swansea’s recent summer recruit Roque Mesa from 2010-2012, before returning to the Estadio Gran Canaria for an initial loan spell before joining permanently in 2015 for a relatively small price of €900,000.
He had very limited playing time at Valencia and got 4 goals and 3 assists

Pickford
Martina Williams Keane Baines
Schneiderlin Gueye
Klaassen Rooney Siggy
Sandro
Baines and Williams are another year older and on the decline. Martina is a serious downgrade on Coleman, hopefully only till the new year.
Pickford and Keane are vastly superior to Robles and jagielka. Schnerderlin and Gana will be even better for a full pre-season together and therefore a better understanding.
Siguardsson imo is a slight upgrade on Ross (certainly a more consistent one) and Sandro is a significant upgrade on DCL.
Leaves us with just Rooney, who although he might be a better all round footballer than Rom, will not score as many goals.
In summary, losing lukaku's goals is a big loss and the defence still needs strengthing imo to challenge for the top 4, but I still think it is significantly stronger team than last season.

Do you think that's stronger, overall, than last season?

yeah, overall the attacking options are better and then a better keeper and central defence. It's not massively better it must be said, but when we think of the fact coleman and bolasie will be back eventually, barkley won't even get in that team, deulofeu couldn't even get into lasts seaosn's team and lukaku's replacement will be added to that, the first team squad has a lot more quality, is more solid, will be more efficient in the final 3rd and will be able to have great options off the bench and for rotation, those are the main things that matter.

Courtney Duffus has joined Oldham from Everton on a permanent deal.

The young striker has signed a two-year contract with the option of a third.

hmm

what do we think the starting 11 is then as it stands?

Pickford
Martina Williams Keane Baines
Schneiderlin
Gueye Klaassen
Mirallas Rooney Sandro

Viera rather than Sigurdsson makes a 3-4-3 somewhat viable:

Pickford
Holgate Keane Williams
Martina Klaassen Schneiderlin Baines
Viera Rooney Sandro
Gueye for Klaassen when we need to be more defensive.

Oh so you found a an article in a welsh newspaper that has two lines about a spanish players appearances, and thats supposed to mean something?

Fantasy history. Would have taken you all of 2 minutes to actually research it. That season 3 years ago where he made just seven appearances? That was only half a season, he made 28 appearances that season, and scored 8 goals with 4 assists in 1600 minutes, so roughly 1 per 133 minutes. That season for Valencia, 5 years ago when he was only 22? Scored 2 and 3 assists in 766 minutes, or 1 per 150 minutes.
