To the surprise of absolutely nobody.

Atletico Madrid are confident they'll have their transfer ban overturned and have this week renewed their efforts to reinforce their squad.

And the major casualties are Everton, who felt they had won the race to sign Sandro Ramirez from Malaga for a bargain £5.1million but now look like missing out with Atleti set to dust off their chequebook in search of players who can return them to trophy-winning ways.

Sandro's agent was at the Vicente Calderón on Monday, according to AS, looking to close the deal before the player goes on his summer holidays. And it puts the Toffees back in the market for attacking reinforcements.

Atleti are also targeting Alexandre Lacazette, of Olympique Lyonnais, and Sevilla midfielder Vitolo.

A provisional deal for Lacazette has been in place for some time but, with the transfer ban appeal having been heard and renewed confidence behind closed doors that it will be repealed, the final details can now be sorted between the Madrid club and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Vitolo, a Swiss army knife of a player who has been personally requested by Diego Simeone, could cost as much as £35million if Sevilla won't budge on his release clause, but that deal appears to be progressing quickly.

Fifa imposed a one-year ban on registering new players as punishment for Atletico breaking rules introduced to prevent child trafficking and luring youngsters from their home country.

Atletico denies wrongdoing, though they agreed not to sign players in January while its appeal went ahead.

By appealing to Fifa against the original ban last year, Atletico was able to delay it taking effect last summer window when the club completed the signings of forward Fernando Torres and Kevin Gameiro, and midfielder Nicolas Gaitan.

The Spanish FA has been criticised for its role in player registrations, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also having served FIFA transfer bans.

If people wanna pass on the figments of their imagination, im sure a few "pictures/gifs of amphibious rodents" arent gonna bother them that much.

The days of Everton ITKs are done, in the current climate, the fear of people losing their jobs has ended a few good sources of intel.

If at some point this changes, then I will admit my mistake and fight for weasels rights.

Pretty much this, some people may occasionally get a piece or two of information - and 'may' pass it on at times, but anyone thinking that someone will have multi layered information coming about various operations at the club is wrong.

Say such as having information on what manager a club is after, who transfer targets are, what the stadium intentions are, who potential board members and directors of the club may be, who is and who sin't going to be investing, etc.

Very few people would have the balls to try to make out that they had access to all of that information, and even fewer would have the brass tacks to be shown multiple times to be wrong and actually come out of it and do podcasts and write constant articles still...

@orly, where do I sign up to weasel hunt? I have a clean, weasel-free record and have always maintained a zero-tolerance stance on transfer weaselry.

You are very welcome to join us sir.

Merely flagging possible Weasel Sightings gets you a Hunter's Badge

complete lack of balls shown by anyone in FIFA or UEFA on a constant basis, they're so so scared of upsetting the applecart and i really don't understand why. They feel the need to have the same 20 teams in the champions league every season, it's dull, the same every year because they allow anyone who brakes the rules to get away with it. Barca's transfer ban was utterly laughable.

Now that the season has ended, I'd like to share my thoughts on possible transfer targets or present my wishlist of players who IMO would improve our team:

In:

GK: Pickford - I think it's quite clear that we need a new goalkeeper. We are linked to Pickford, and I'd be quite happy to sign him. He made the second most saves this season and impressed with some spectacular saves. He is still young, so has time to improve and holds some resale value, and with a move to bigger team, he could establish himself in the national team.

LB: Andrew Robertson - Sadly Baines is getting old and his career is coming to an end. I think we need a new left back who can rotate with Baines and fight for a first team spot. I'd go for Andrew Robertson. He could add some attacking threat, which we missed this season. He crosses well and scored 1 goal/2 assists. With 23 years, he still can improve his defensive work.

CB: Michael Keane - Altough we kept 13 clean sheets, we need strengthening at the centre back position. Keane impressed me this season and with his height he could deal with crosses. He had second most blocks and second most clearences. In the past under Roberto Martinez we had massive Problems with conceding goals from corners and I think Keane will fix that.

CAM: Gylfi Sigurdsson - This season we lacked goals from midfield. Sigurdsson has assisted 13 times this season and additonally scored 9 goals. It's possible that Barkley will leave us in this summer, and I think Sigurdsson would be the perfect replacement. He is also a specialist for corners and freekicks. Maybe I'm wrong but I think he also started some games as left midfielder. I wans't really happy with our width this season.

Forward: Dries Mertens - Can play as a striker and left winger. Had a great season at Napoli and scored goals for fun. I think he could be attainable for around 30 Mio. He is always wanted to play in the Premier League and this could be our chance to sign him.

Lukaku will probably leave the Club this summer, so we need a new striker.

Christian Benteke - He's a target forward like Lukaku, but with better link-up play. Scored 15 goals this season and assisted 2. His past with Liverpool may hinder a move to us.

Kasper Dolberg - Scored 16 in the Eredivise and 6 in the Europa League. Think he's also a target forward, but haven't seen too much of him. He'll probably stay at Ajax this season.

Sandro - We are heavily linked to him and there is a big chance he'll sign for us this summer. Looks like a good spanish prospect. Scored 14 goals and assisted 5 in LaLiga for Malaga.

Possible Line-up:

----------------------------------------------------------Sandro / (Mertens)-----------------------------------------------------------
Mertens / (Sigurdsson)---------------------------------Sigurdsson / (Dowell)--------------------------------------Bolasie / (Mirallas)
------------------------------Schneiderlin / (Barry)------------------------Gueye / (Davies)---------------------------------------
Baines / (Robertson)------Williams /(Jagielka)----------------------------Keane / (Holgate) -------------------Coleman / (Kenny)
-----------------------------------------------------------Pickford / (Robles)---------------------------------------------------------

or

----------------------------------------------------------Mertens / (Sandro)--------------------------------------------------------
Sigurdsson / (Mirallas)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Bolasie
------------------------------Gueye / (Besic)------------------------------------Davies / (McCarthy)------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------Schneiderlin / (Barry) -----------------------------------------------------
Robertson / (Baines)------Williams /(Jagielka)----------------------------Keane / (Holgate) -------------------Coleman / (Kenny)
-----------------------------------------------------------Pickford / (Robles)---------------------------------------------------------

Don't hesitate to correct me on my english

..I don't know what's a click bait site, I suppose they all are. No problem, I'll stop posting links, Matey.
It's not for me to tell you to. On the contrary I would dismiss anything I ever posted if I was someone else. I was just concerned for the wellbeing of all these little Transfer Toads who get themselves into a tiz when jarg transfer news is placed in their midst.
