Are we sure Spurs genuinely pay their players about two thirds less than the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, etc? I'm sure their players all enjoy playing for them, but would they really stay at a club on comparatively tiny contracts when inferior players at other clubs are earning millions more? I've never believed that Spurs have such a small wage budget.

I saw Gylfi at Reading quite a bit before he moved on to Germany before to Swansea and Spurs. Not the quickest but controlled the pace of games even as a youngster and was clearly leagues above Reading and the Championship. My only concern is in poor team he is clearly the star man, in a better theam he can't quite put his mark on the game. I'm a fan and think he'd be a great addition to the team but not for silly money.

According to SSN,just now, Siggy has turned down 100k a week offer from Everton....Spurs will have to change their salary structure to come anywhere close to that.

He'd defo take a cut to go to spurs due to Champos league. Although I think that's all a rouse to get Barkley.

As for us, there's no way I'm having him pull our pants down for £100k a week.

They can get away with it due to being competitive.

We, and clubs like is, have to entice with £££ rather than on the pitch.

I doubt it. Spurs have won nothing! Why would their best players stay for 70k a week when they see their fellow England internationals earning double in the same city or over in Manchester? Perhaps their players are on huge performance bonuses too alongside their relatively low standard wage.

Spurs pay a base low wage, with very high bonuses - including some which are very very easy to hit the targets to activate
