Absolutely. If Harrison and McNeil got 10 between them then that would be a step forward. As long as they also provide the assists for our as yet unknown goal machine up top
Eze, Foden, Martinelli, Barnes, Salah & Saka are the only players in similar positions who got 10 or more goals last season!

If they both got 10 goals next season we would be looking at Europe

When you think of 13 goals - its over a third of what we scored last season.

McNeil scoring 7 in effectively half a season (yes he was here for the other half but barely figured) what %age is that? 25%?

If only Maupay wasn’t chocolate teapot levels of usefulness the plan might have come off (sell one lm/cf and buy one lm, one cf and pocket the change)

Between them, I said. Like 6 for McNeil, 4 for Harrison....doesn't seem unreasonable

Oh......sorry mate, i musn't of read your post properly

To be fair though between McNeil & Gray last year they got 11
Between Iwobi & McNeil they got 9

Harrison getting 4-6 goals doesn't massively improve that position

About a fifth mate. His, Gray and Docuoure's goals kept us up.

Let that sink in no way we can depend on that again.

No absolutely not. We need an actual number 9 type forward who can stay fit since summer 2021

The theory of what we did re: richarlison was fine. The McNeil thing turned out ok. Whoever sanctioned Maupay needs a rethink on their career choice.

No problem. And you're right...10 between them is a little skinny. Just hard to imagine a bigger figure. My main point was that we don’t know who they will be providing assists for....centre forward is where we need the big numbers. Like (gulp) 15

Jackpot. All this talk about wingers/wide forwards contributing goals? Let's get straight back to basis, lads: it's a starting centre-forward we need, then, isn't it?

A centre forward that can get 10 would be a start. Only 9 players in the whole league got 15 goals, none of which played for a bottom half side.

I’d love to be an average team, right now we’re below average actually we’re a poor side scraping premier league survival 2 years running any excitement of James type player or significant managerial appointment like ancelotti has long gone and the future is very uncertain if we can steady the ship and in 3 years or so we can start bringing players in similar to what Brighton have done then that’s progress trying to find them now is too risky in my opinion we seen what that does with Patterson and mykolenko wrong signings at the wrong time.
I mean Mykolenko hardly fits. No one rated him at that price and we got had by Kyiv because we were desperate with a desperate manager and no one running the club. A real scouting system and a real DOF don't do that transfer.

Almost ever player we’ve bought have been established “premier league” players and we’ve fallen like a rock
We spent badly, we bought the wrong players and very often paid far too much for them.

The squad has been unbalanced for years. Spending money was never the answer if it isn't spent wisely. Last summer we signed eight players but left ourselves completely short of strikers.

We also kept changing managers on a very regular basis who were each supported in the transfer market and the following manager was left with players he didn't want.

That really only stopped when our financial problems crystalised and we have nearly had to stop spending altogether.

It will probably take another twelve months before Gomes, Gbamin and Alli have left, although some may go sooner , and we will finally have reduced our expensive bloated squad to more normal levels.
