Summer transfer window 2023

We would surely not let simms go if we didn't have atleast two strikers coming in...

Right lads?

Lads?.
We don't do strikers at Everton
Has to be said selling Simms to buy Gyokeres for 4 times the price despite the latter having a lower G+A per 90 in the same league while being 3 years older would be quite the Everton transfer window
I don't think he's coming here sadly

Broja and Gallagher on loan from Chelsea. Henderson from Utd + cash for Pickford and Onana sales allows us to look at another ST, LB, CB & RW.

Have you considered that maybe Simms isnt very good and this Groky is?

I mean you seem to be assuming hes not better.

Its almost like 2 different players have different ability, how mads that?
I've certainly considered that the eye test folks have already decided Gyokeres is way better because that's what they want it to be.

But my feeling is neither is probably all that good and we'd be much better served trying the one we have already than paying extra for the privilege of a different low percentage dice roll.

I have no idea which 1 is better.

I know that Simms was brought back and not deemed good enough for us, for whatever reason.

Is Groky? Who knows.

All circumstance right? Simms doesn't have to play. He's an academy lad and whether we sell or keep him it's a success. But buying someone for 15m? That guy has to have a chance to work out. So one way or another Gyokeres would hypothetically show us what he is or isn't while Simms can just not be given the chance and loads aren't even slightly bothered.

Genuine question here, forget the Chelsea goal, what in Simms’ appearances (bearing in mind you only see snippets watching on TV rather than the whole pitch in person) makes you think it’s sensible to keep him?

There were other flashes of him understanding how to find space in the box and get shots away. I mean at least above what the other players in that spot showed. If we had real options it would be an easy choice to sell but people are talking about needing two strikers after we sell him.

I actually thought he did reasonably well against United. I'd prefer he scored the chance but strikers miss sometimes and the way you even it out is by getting on the end of other chances. You can't do that from the bench.
