Looked great for Heerenveen, but failed to make an impression at Benfica. Risky one for me, but has time on his side with regards to realising his potential. Wouldn't mind swerving this one tbh.

Cheers for the info mate, just wondered as remember him being hyped when he moved to Benfica as the next big thing potentially but hardly got a game for them since, in our situation can't really 'risk' a player like that no matter the upside for 7m or so, be an interesting loan potentially maybe with an option to buy unless Benfica are just looking at moving him on permanently already.

As I said though I'm just going off a few games I've seen him for Serbia whilst, the Serbians remind me a little of Belgium a few years ago actually, have some really talented technical players with pace coming through atm

Forwards that show potential at Heerenveen are "hit or miss" to say the least. For every Huntelaar and Nistelrooy, there is an Alfonso Alves or Bas Dost. Djuricic looks like he could go down the miss route as it stands, and unfortunately I think Finnbogason will when he leaves too.

EDIT: Add Marcus Alback and Samaras to the list, too.

Yup the Dutch league is a tricky one, the playmaker types seem to have a better chance than the out and out goalscorers just looking over some of the busts in the past, Remember how lethal both Kuyt and Kezman had been in that league as well and although Kuyt wasn't a total bust by any means he was never a prolific goalscorer in any other league, Kezman on the other hand was terrible

I'd take Ronaldo in a team ahead of Messi mate, Messi has had the entire team built around him and playing to his strengths his entire career, Ronaldo has done it for two teams now, close like but would give him the nod every time. When your dealing with the 2 out and out best players in the world the past decade basically though it's down to what you prefer i guess

As for Iniesta he's always been a cracking player, but dunno if i ever would have put him in the top 3 in the world at any point

From 2008 to 2012 he was taking the absolute pish while picking up the most important trophy on offer every one of those seasons. For my money defo in the top 3 during that period.

The Messi v Ronaldo debate is, as you say, always going to come down to personal preference. At the end of the day, what Guardiola said was right. Why worry about who's the best, just enjoy them both.

In other news, this lad looks incredible (20 in 30 games) and I'd rather we spent £15m+ on him than Lukaku purely based on how boss he looks in this:



Top finishing, off the ball superb, looks to have super technique, watch that second goal and tell me you didn't instantly think Robin Van Persie.

Both not good enough for me. Finnbogason is just another Luuk de Jong for me and Aron Johannson found his level in the Dutch league I think.
