Super Luton-watch 🥰🔥

MikeH72

Player Valuation: £100m
Realised I’m late starting this, as I see they got bummed at home in their opening game yesterday. But this is the place for all fans of the Luton globetrotters to keep an eye on the progress of Rob Edwards’ men, before he gets snapped up by City anyway as @Xizor seems to think he’s destined for big things in the game.

I know they had a very big cult following in the relegation thread last year, as they amassed a whopping 26 points and finished behind two teams with points deductions. But their ground is in someone’s back garden, what a story 🥹🫶

To be fair Mike, I think they should be proud of their efforts. The smallest stadium ever in the Premier League, and some of their performances could put certain Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa sides to shame.

I also think people were just worried about them because of the questionable actions of the PL last season. Without all that, I don't think many Everton fans would have paid them much attention.. We were all worried last season because we were forced to scrap it out with these, not because many thought they would rack up close to 40 points.

I thought they would win the league mate. Alfie Doughty the best player in the world and future Real Madrid gaffer Rob Edwards. They performed below expectations for me.

In fact @John from Bootle I’ve just fact checked the “smallest ground in the history of the PL” thing, and it in fact isn’t the smallest, Bournemouth is. Now there’s a club that have overachieved with such meagre resources.

Thought I red somewhere that they were the smallest. Not really arsed to be honest mate. I've no affiliation with them, don't have a 'soft spot' for them, and certainly have no history of waxing lyrical about them, or of bigging them up, I just thought they did alright and kept themselves in with a chance of staying up until late in the season.

They were in with a chance of staying up because two teams directly above them had points deductions. That those hopes were extinguished with about 5 games to go is not a good look really. Especially when some clubs have come up with more scarce resources than them and racked up over 30 points, sometimes even over 40.

Think they’ll do well to get top half this season, they seem to be in free fall a bit. If they can stave off the drop for the next 2 seasons they should be ok.

Lost 2-1 at home to QPR. Oh dear oh no how sad. Big Rob Edwards still eying up the City job when Pep leaves next year I think so has taken his foot off the gas, understandably some might say.

@Xizor how’s the new Nando’s in Luton that the Premier League money bought anyway?

Where on the doll did Luton touch you Mickles?
