Player Valuation: £40m
It would be a dream come true for Eriksson to take over the reigns at Anfield. I can't think of anyone better qualified to run a shambles of a club further into the ground and to walk away with a big, fat payoff. He seems to be keen too.

Hodgson might be tempted, as it could be his last chance to manage a big club in England, but it seems like he has loyalty to Fulham. I think he's found his place there. Moving to Liverpool could turn out to be like his short-lived tenure at Blackburn. I couldn't see him enjoying being in the spotlight either.

You would have to ask why Louis Van Gaal would want to leave Champions League finalists with Ribery and Robben on their books for a club with no money, who are struggling to hold on to their best players and who would do very well to qualify for Champions League football next season.

O'Neill seems a likely candidate, as he seems to feel undervalued by the fans at Villa Park. He would most likely be the best man for the job, as he can work on a tight budget, and he also achieved success with Celtic. Could he work with Hicks and Gillette though?

How the hell in this moment in time can Liverpool even offer a contract to a new manager?
By all accounts they have the bank manager as CEO who is a Chelsea Season ticket holder, then they have another banker next in charge. The club is close to Adminastration unless they have buyers lined up. They cant offer any transfer money, players look like they will be leaving like Stevie DJ la, Mach and Torres. They are well and truly ****ed.
Good eh?

I think that Hodgson would be a good candidate. He's a football man and he rescued Inter when they were on their knees.

If I was to draw up a wishlist of candidates I'd want them to interview they would include Sven, John Barnes, Kenny Dalglish and Graham Taylor. lol

With them being so money conscious, paying Rafael £3m and £2.5m compensation for a new manager will wipe out their summer transfer kitty!!! ha ha

Sven would be hilarious, as would Barnes/MacAteer, Souness or Dalglish. Hodgson and O'Neill would be less funny, but they cant afford them so the point is probably moot. If they get Pellegrini I would probably be a bit worried.

I seen Paul Ince yestarday/last night parking his shiny HSE on Duke St.

I hope he was meeting and agreeing terms.

please god,please god..

oh yeah, john barnes...just imagine it....oh yes please, i promise to go to church and be good forever.

Barnes/McAteer dream team would be brilliant, talk of Redknapp now from Spurs but you would have to ask WHY?

redknapp wont go. hes managing his dream job, money to spend, champions league........no way hes going. It'll be hodgson imo

Harry Redknapp spends his time putting clubs into crippling financial difficulties, not saving them from them. No way would he go to RS, although it would be convenient for me if he did, my two most hated things in football in one neat little package.

It looks like there's no takeover on the horizon, so I think they'll go British.

Hodgson
McLeish
Hughes
O'Neill
Redknapp

I have a sneaking feeling they'll go for McLeish. He doesn't rock boats and he's been at a big club before, has CL experience and he's done a decent enough job at Birmingham.

I doubt it, he's got a decent budget at Birmingham and has already started signing players. I hope they go for Martin O'Neill.

It's funny to see some of the Reds attitudes towards losing Benitez, the majority of them are in ultra negative mode, they aren't even bothered who the manager will be because nobody could do a job (supposedly) under the evil Americans. It's rubbish to be honest, a postive outlook, a change in tactics and a bit of motivation could be exactly what they need.
