IS HE ; A ; Gettin' his excuses in early , OR , B ; Talkin' fukn sense !!!

I actually , favour the latter .

What say you ???

Howard cant keep track of the flight of a medicine ball, never mind a WC beachball. The answer is A) he's getting his excuses in early.

Several world cup keepers have said this year that the ball is doing all sorts in the air, this includes Cassilas. It comes up every major tournament too! Plus, having played with the current ball in a tournament just this weekend I can confirm it is the worse ball I have ever got to use. You will see a lot of parrying of shots as it moves all over the shop and you really have to re act very very late to get anything on it of note.

But, although I am a keeper too, I will say it takes the outfield players time to adjust to what the ball will do when they hit it. Thats why we will see many a shot going out for throw ins!!

It's round, it's leather - i'm sure you have seen it before.

Everyone seems to be having trouble with it. Look at the number of overhit balls in the USA vs Australia game a few days ago, the thing just never slows down. I'll be happy if it leads to more goals, but I hope that it doesn't stop the best nations from progressing.

I don't understand how you can make such radical changes to the ball immediately before the largest tournament in the world. I mean, I do ($$$$), but for sporting reasons, it really makes my head hurt.

If it adds more excitement, randomness and unpredictability into the WC then I'm all for it. .....I say that now but I'll be the first one throwin my bowl of nachos at the telly when Lampard balloons it over the bar for the umpteenth time!

Sounds like a disclaimer.

All the keepers are basically saying. "If we are rubbish, its because of the ball.."

It does , an' DK may have a point , too , but I saw a clip earlier , an' , .... This is gonna get MESSY ( See what I did There ??? ) , in the later rounds .

No [Poor language removed] .

anyone noticed all the players/teams moaning about it..........are sponsored by Nike.....? Sounds good fun though!

Just a bit of CYA exercise for all keepers and players. Read that Adidas is claiming that the Jabulani is the most true ball they have ever made. If the new ball increases the scoring from set pieces and distance, not that disappointed about the ball. Everyone loves a goal but a cracker from distance or a set piece are brilliant stuff. Makes every set piece dangerous. Plus, all of the WC matches will be played at altitude so the ball will have more pace and fly farther. Could make for some great highlights.

Howard might be better off claiming Adidas has given him a shoddy defense...

Not much of an Onyewu fan but I do rate DeMerit - he's a warrior.
