Its time to step up and buy some boots, pre season here.

Im not too happy with the selections of the '09 range, but Ive narrowed it down to the...

classic Copa Mundial,

The Nike Total laser 90 II FG,

or the Nike Air Legend II FG

What do you think? Or are there better options?

I do have a pair of black multiground legends for my soccerdome exploits but feel ugly in them. Copa's are the real deal.

I bought a pair probably 8 years ago. Are they still the bollocks compared to the swish new stuff?

Pretty much, the leather is so lightweight. The new preds are smart and have got plenty of power technology in them if that's what you're after but F50s are gash.

There the only Adidas's Im thinking about this year. Im going out to try some on today, Im just worried they have less protection for feet than the others. Theyre like socks and I remember copping afew studs on the toes.

If you saw the 'extensive' range of boots we have to choose for over here youd laugh.

I dont think Patrick import here anymore, and '78 classics? Forget it. The Copa is the only one.

this is where the retro's come good, no metatarsals in them days, some are like ballet shoes nowadays, for ponces like ronaldo.

Have a look at the copa 25th aniversary edition. Seem to be a more substantial design but still sleek as ever
