Team of your life

I appreciate that you may be a relative youngster and not had the pleasure of witnessing a Kanchelskis or Steven, but I'd say Kevin Mirallas has in 4 or 5 games already achieved more than VDM achieved in 3.5 years at the club

Im only 21, started going in 1998 or 1999... so;

Nigel Martyn

Lucas Neill - David Weir - Sylvain Distin - Leighton Baines

Mikel Arteta - Maro Fellaini - Manny Fernandes - Steven Pienaar

Kevin Campbell - Wayne Rooney

-

Howard, Jageilka, Lescott, Ferguson, Mirallas, Donovan, Osman

Based on ability.

I honestly don't want to pick a team because stood up against those who've been lucky to see Everton as the best in the land, it would be depressing.

Some players Im going to select might not have been great for us but had the talent/ I loved them anyway.

T How

Hibbo Heitinga Jagielka Baines

VDM Arteta Fellaini Bilyaletdinov

Rooney Ferguson

GK: Martyn, Pienaar, Nuno Valente, Jelavic, Carsley, Gravesen, Cahill

GK 1 Wales Neville Southall
RB 2 England Gary Stevens
LB 3 Wales Pat Van Den Hauwe
CB 4 Wales Kevin Ratcliffe (c)
CB 5 England Derek Mountfield
CM 6 England Peter Reid
RM 7 England Trevor Steven
CF 8 England Graeme Sharp
CF 9 Scotland Andy Gray
CM 10 Scotland Paul Bracewell
LM 11 Republic of Ireland Kevin Sheedy

As far as a 'team' goes this can't be touched. I'm pretty sure Bracewell was English though! I'm not even going to mention Sharp's nationality there!!

As the above team clearly wins, I'll just go for a variation.

Southall

Stevens Watson Ratcliffe Baines
Kanchelskis Reid Sheedy
Rooney Beardsley
Lineker

A nice little 4,3,2,1 Christmas tree formation.

11 subs to make the squad

Martin, Van Den Hauwe, Materazzi, Mountfield, Whiteside, Steven, Arteta, Dacort, Fellaini, Sharp, Jelavic.

That squad would walk the premier league.

They'd win it in 2nd gear mate, no doubt.

For 40-odd years of watching, the only 2 right backs worth considering were Tommy Wright and Gary Stevens. There were far too many midfielders to fit in, having to leave out Kendall /Harvey /Bracewell and even Arteta was difficult. We haven't had that many strikers to consider either, as Rooney was still learning, and the likes of Royle and Sharp were very good but not great. I think there's a possibility that Jelavic could soon replace Lineker in that team

Southall
Stevens Watson Ratcliffe Baines

Steven Reid Gazza (only if I can have him, in his prime) if not, Fellaini Sheedy

Sharp Rooney

Subs: Howard Cahill Jags Pat VDH Ferguson Bracewell Kanchelskis

of something like that....If I'm allowed Gazza in his prime, then Felli on the bench too.

every everton side ive seen dating back to 69 ,howard kendall would be the 1st name on the team sheet ,truly wonderful footballer who kept everton up on his own in the early 70s after the breakup of the 69 leauge winning team, howard was pure pure class ,peter reid was a great footballer but he wasnt a patch on howard
