Terry Dropped As England Captain

What a joke.

Classic case of a British journalism 'Witch hunt' at it's worst.

Are all the editors of the major dailies Scottish or something? Why try and sabotage the England camp at the start of a world cup year?

Stuff like this will have happened back in the 60's, it was just kept in house.

Obviously it will be Stevie ****face. I actually don't think I could watch us win the world cup now and have to stare at his puggy little face as he lifts the cup. Even worse, his utterly dispassionate post-match interview, "Well, you know the boys done well, but its just another game, we're pleased to win and we'll look forward to 2014".

It's not official and it might not be permanent, so lets hope it's all nonsense.

John Terry Dropped As England Captain Over 'Affair With Model' After Talks With Boss Fabio Capello | UK News | Sky News

Terry Axed As England Captain After 'Affair'

John Terry has been dropped as England football captain following a meeting with the national manager Fabio Capello over his alleged affair, Sky News sources say.

It comes as the woman who the Chelsea skipper reportedly had a relationship with has decided not to sell her story.
Underwear model Vanessa Perroncel was believed to have been offered up to £250,000 by various media organisations to give her view.
She also said she was very sad that Terry has been dropped as England captain.
The father-of-two was axed as the national skipper following a meeting with Capello at Wembley lasting around 12 minutes. Terry has now left the world famous football venue.
Sky correspondent Ian Dovaston said: "I am sure that John Terry thought this was a great possibility, that Fabio Capello would take this view.
"Clearly the manager believes he has been so mired in controversy that he would become a distraction in the build-up to the World Cup.
"The last thing he wants is any distraction as they go into a very important competition."
Capello flew into the UK on Thursday amid continuing speculation that Terry could have to quit his role as the side's skipper just months ahead of this summer's World Cup finals in South Africa.
The player had made no announcement regarding his captaincy, which was cast in doubt following claims that he had a liaison with the ex-partner of former Chelsea and current England team-mate Wayne Bridge.
Capello flew into London's Heathrow Airport from Switzerland, where he has been recovering from a knee operation.
The Football Association made it clear that Capello alone would decide the 29-year-old Chelsea defender's fate.
Capello did not stop to speak to reporters as he was ushered through Terminal One and into a silver Mercedes.
The manager walked with a clear limp as he made his way through airport arrivals.
He was understood to be keen to have the captaincy issue settled before he travels to Warsaw for the qualifying draw for the 2012 European Championships this weekend.
The allegations relating to Terry's private life came to light after a gagging order was lifted by Mr Justice Tugendhat at the High Court in London on Friday last week.

Terry's actions, regardless of it being looked upon as a 'private' matter have jeopardized the morale within the England camp, and I'm not surprised one bit if he gets punished for it.

Had he had an affair etc with a woman unassociated with another England player, then that would truly be a private matter, but to do it to another England player is detrimental to the set up to the extreme.

Bridges mind can't possibly be on his football if playing alongside Terry, which can't be good.

I'd have personally kicked him out of the squad untill after the world cup.

As for replacements, it's a bit of a laughing stock isn't it?

I don't care about the England national team at all, but it'll be a cold day in hell when I want any team with St Stevie G La as captain to win a game of football
