We can only guess, but given the size of his shareholding he has a significant amount of capital tied up. If it was me I'd be attending meetings either by phone or by proxy.

If I had that much capital invested in something I wasn't emotionally invested in, I'd be looking to sell up. In fact I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. One can only speculate why he did and what he 'gets out of' owning nearly a quarter of EFC.
If I've attended one match in 8 years, that might be an indication my involvement is very limited.

The opinion of this forum is more valid than the opinion of the general match going fan base, due to the fact that those who have signed up to a football forum will be more likely to read and understand the reality of the club.

That isn't a criticism of those fans who aren't as informed either. I wish I could go to the match and just watch the football, it's what it is supposed to be about really.

You can do both mate and I'd be amazed if you don't too.

If I'm sat / stood watching the game the last thing I'm thinking about is the mechanics of running the club and whether or not the board is doing the best they can, which is all we can ask of anyone on life.

I'm sure most of the activists in the Blue Union and other organisations do exactly the same, go to the game, support the team, forget about the background to what's happening on the pitch for 90 minutes and then put the club to right when it's all over.

The polarisation of the fanbase which might appear to be the case on here doesn't reflect the reality on the ground.

I think the "informed" argument has some validity, but Evertonians aren't stupid and most of those who you might think of us as uninformed are of my generation who recognise that nothing in life is as black and white as it might appear online, and the reality is actually a bit like Judy Finnegan's bra at the awards ceremony a few years ago, a washed out shade of grey.

would you rather have an owner who hires a manager and invests in the squad and finishes lower than an owner who hires a manager who doesnt invest in the squad ?
