Yeah, but that Thatcher though lad, she stole our milk and beat up those nice Argentinian lads..........

She was 30 years ago yes but the effects of her actions still cast a long shadow over the communities she decimated.

The tory frontbench worship her, alot of policy today is based around basic Thatcherist principles (As was New Labours). She regardless of your political standpoint is as relevant now as she ever has been.

I think the millions of pounds pumped into the regeneration of Liverpool shows that her neglect is well and truly over mate. Scousers are on the whole, great, but Christ when there's a perceived wrong doing against them they don't half find it hard to let go and think about the future.

Labour are responsible for ripping apart towns and cities and have barely come up with an apology, more of a 'we were wrong but so what'. What the tories did to the north wasn't great but unfortunately some would say it was collateral damage of the times. Labour had absolutely no regard for the working classes they are supposed to represent, in order to gain block voting from the masses they let in- culminating in the destruction of a lot of previously promising towns and forcing a lot of people out of their homes.
