I'm not sure your serious here. Why is it not? Those food banks that have been mentioned earlier aren't run by the state are they? Isn't that a sign of communities coming together to help those in need?

Christ! where do you start? It's everything from Fuel costs pensions, welfare cuts to short term contract abuse. The list is depressingly endless.I'm lucky enough not to use food banks, I'm gobsmacked that people in the country need foodbanks, are we talking about families who have lost their main earner and waiting for benefits.
looking out for each other went in the 80's and has been steadily eroded by social engineering ever since mate. Suppose we should be running our own libraries instead of relying on the government to do it as well? Oh and emptying our bins and cutting the grass on the park fields !! never mind feed people god forbid.
It may come as a shock to you but some people don't have internet access or understand it! suppose they could go to the Library and learn.... only its closed!Running our own libraries?
http://en.wikipedia.org/ seems to do alright as a valuable source of information that is powered by volunteers.
Or you have http://www.wegivebooks.org/about or http://www.bookcrossing.com/
Or even http://learning.xprize.org/ if you want to make a difference on a global scale.
This notion that we are not looking out for each other is simply not true at all. Only the other weekend I was at an event where people from around the world came together to give their weekend to develop solutions to help climate change. This weekend a similar event took place to help the NHS. No one was paid to be there, no one was cajoled into it.

Tis all bullocks until planes stop flying, China, India, Russia etc stop using coal fired power stations (they wont - why should they be stopped from driving their economy) and in any case the Committee for Climate Change has been found out as scare mongering. Putting up a few Clebs spouting guff (having flown in) in a total turn off.
Time to fire up the Range Rover
Not as much fun as solving them by throwing website addresses around and arsey comments. The local library was burned down in a fire. It's currently housed in the Heygate redevelopment whilst the library is being re-built. Oh, hang on, the Heygate shouldn't be redeveloped, so there would be no library.
It's fun this game of finding problems in everything isn't it?![]()
Bit of both good and bad, really. I can see both sides of the argument.
or how about the police failing to do their job?I think the parents of the girl likely kidnapped and murdered by a convicted Latvian murderer (LOL) will say that unchecked immigration from these countries (with much poorer population and higher crime rates) isn't a good idea.
