From the Esk's summary:
"The question remains, why does he persist with this appalling management team having committed so much money to see a hugely loss making club on the cusp of falling out of the Premier League whilst building a brand new stadium?"
Quite.
That's one answer and a seductive one. Delve into the thread (and others) and you'll see the debate about whether this is a good thing to rely on one man's largesse as an institution.Because he can afford it?
Perhaps he sticks with this management team because they don't actually try and stop him making decisions such as buying iwobi etc and he wants a set of yes men. Don't disagree that we are decidedly average on the management side but moshiri has to take the biggest slice of criticism for me with some of the decisions he's made.If any other business had a set of accounts like that, the whole board and senior management would be out on their arse.
Moshiri should have got a professional team in straight away when he took over, not a parish council set of amateurs that we’ve got now.
He takes the biggest criticism for being stupid enough in the first place to be sucked in to believing Bills fairytales about uncle Cyril and the boys pen. Got played big time by Kenwright. As much as Im no fan of Bill i do have a small amount of respect for the way he has played Moshiri, he is still here, club is full of his cronies, he is getting his stadium, and its not him having to foot the bills. Its grade A grifting.Perhaps he sticks with this management team because they don't actually try and stop him making decisions such as buying iwobi etc and he wants a set of yes men. 100% such a weird thing for them to sayRemember when we were bidding crazy money on players and people saying they don't care it's not my money. Crazy that people couldn't see that reckless spending would eventually cause massive problems.

As I pointed out yesterday the 21/22 income numbers will be significantly below the averaged 19/20&20/21 ones if for no other reason than league finishing position will se circa £13 million less and that’s assuming a 17th place is achievedJust been breaking down the accounts, seems the PL have accepted that we’ve made an a loss of 85mill and below the 105 mill P&S threshold.
Begs the question, if we knew in the summer we had a 30 mill buffer, why did we only spend on 1.7 mill on Demari - probably wages on Jamo who left late outside the window.
Yet some cause for pause, our latest compliance comes buoyed by losses of 13 mill 17/18.
Our next cycle is this + 21/22,
18/19: 112 mill
19/20: 140 mill
20/21: 124. mill.
* 19/20 & 20/21 averaged and impaired.
If we believe (at the moment) that the PL have accepted (at the moment) the Covid impairment on between 170 mill - 220mill, and our losses above are an impaired 85 mill. We have a buffer of 30 million.
That doesn’t necessarily mean we have 30 million to spend, it’s likely that will get eaten up very quickly, with a wage to turnover ratio of 95% and compensation for departing Brands, his team and Benitez and his team. Our costs are a killer.
Transfer-wise We did all right last summer, bought a few low cost, sold a few on big money, sold a bit in January and bought a bit - seems a very fine line with break even the plan, we will be touch and go.
This summer again can’t see any real money being spent, think it will be like last summer again - unless DCL or Richarlison go and they may. Likely those potential deals or not will dictate what summer window we will have.
If Moshiri had wanted to do things properly it would have been a clean sweep throughout the club from day one and we would have had proper people in running the club from top to bottom. Bill got what he wanted, someone to come along with a big cheque book who would let him carry on in situ. Who knows, maybe that was the original arrangement they had, I'm past caring tbhWHere is the evidence of this? I mean, seriously
I’m just not sure a highly successful business man would be had over like that.If Moshiri had wanted to do things properly it would have been a clean sweep throughout the club from day one and we would have had proper people in running the club from top to bottom. Other than a brief period where Moshiri learnt his trade as an accountant, he has spent most of his time working as Usmanovs errand boy/bag man. His wealth is all paper wealth, its shares, stocks, bonds that sort of thing. Farhad Moshiri is not someone with huge amounts of disposable cash. I think to call him a highly successful business man is a bit of a stretch, there is another phrase/term I would use but I wont as I will get into trouble.I’m just not sure a highly successful business man would be had over like that.
