Let's find out, once and for all, GOT's favourite action movie of all time.

I've drawn up a list of 16 of the greatest action movies ever and pitted them together in a knockout format competition.

Simple really - the film that gets the most votes progresses to the next round.

MATCH FOUR - MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR (GIBSON) vs. LETHAL WEAPON (GIBSON/GLOVER)

MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR (1981)

Mad Max 1 was OK, but lacked a bit of pacing for me. Mad Max 2, however, was superb. Right from the off it takes hold of you, smashes you through one fast-paced action scene straight on to the next as you fly through the post-apocalyptic landscape so vividly portrayed throughout this film.

The stuntwork in Mad Max 2 has to be seen to be believed and to this day you look back on it and wonder how they managed to create such believable stunts without badly injuring someone!

Mad Max 2 doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is - a breakneck speed all-out action movie with barely any dialogue but entertainment in spades. A top film, and notably the breakout role for Mel Gibson.

LETHAL WEAPON (1987)

The buddy cop genre was born with Lethal Weapon, and future films such as Rush Hour and Bad Boys simply wouldn't have existed without it.

The chemistry between Gibson and Glover sparks beyond the typical mad man/straight guy combination and allows pretty much every film in this franchise to be a winner.

It's a toss up as to whether you prefer the original, or the fantastic sequel with Joe Pesci and, bizarrely, a puffy-nippled Patsy Kensit. Take your pick really!

The whole experience is one of thorough enjoyment and, like Die Hard, it's one of the movies you instantly think of when asked to name a "funny" action movie. Great film.

So who goes through to the next round - you decide!
