The rules are quite clear tho lads.

I mean I do skirt around the edges of some of them, but I try and respect them and follow them.

Im not crying, honestly this should be taken in the positive way im saying it, if possible, this isnt a dig, BUT........

I do feel as tho some of the moderation recently has been a little iron fist, I realise we cant have a full riot, but some things have been, IMHO, slightly overzealous.

Im not talking about certain bans given out, the majority of people deserve the bans they get, but this forum was built on humor, on having a laugh and I do feel as tho sometimes that gets forgotten.

As I say lads, im not cry arsing, im just giving my POV.

I mean no offence, im just saying.

There has been absolutely zero difference in how we moderate this place mate. But in the context of this thread, which is a good read, just this afternoon I have banned probably 6 new posters for spam.

Thats quite normal. Now spam comes in 2 forms generally. One is random product or more dangerous malware placement. The other is other sites/blogs/surveys etc wanting access to our membership for data, traffic, opinions. That sort of stuff. Now if an established poster wanted to promote a site they had built, or a Just Give thing, about anything, and asked Danny if its Ok to post, the answer would be 100% yes. (Unless, well, y'know).

But if an established poster posts links to another EFC site, promoting themselves, without asking, not once or twice, but most weeks, it moves into taking this place for a ride.

Chances are, if said poster dropped the Boss a line, apologising for being a tit, then all would be sound most likely.

Also worth noting that many, many times banned poster @butters , currently @Big Fat Sam , is banned again , recently for racial profiling, and now swear filter avoidance.

You may not think so Roydo but it definitely is.

The days when Dutch, Woolly and Micknick were mods to now is very different

Doesn't make it a worse forum but it's certainly a different one. I still enjoy the place but the humour isn't what it was and as @Kiwi says, it's a more serious 'grown up' forum these days.

I'd have banned him just for being ginger tbh

As I said RayRay, it wasnt about bans that have happened recently, as such.

The majority of people get banned and I nod to myself and say "yep, thats a paddling", im sure Bungs for example would be the first to admit he deserves 90% of his bans, even Ijj, if he was warned and warned about it, then its a fair cop really.

Also I do realise the work the mods do that we dont see, banning the Russian bots, keeping us safe from kopite vermin, well some of them.

It wasnt a "You people are rubbish" post.

It was mostly a lets just be Friends post.
