Gonzales/Riquelme/Fernandes etc and we re-sign Gravesen. Can't help but feel a bit let down.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum and all that. If Moyes couldn't find anyone else and we needed the numbers then fair enough, but I wont be happy if the Fernandes money isn't spent and we don't strengthen by January.
 
we could have been linked with ronaldo, ronaldinho, scholes and pedersen.

if they didnt want to come to goodison, then theres nothing moyes could do about it.

i could have signed all four plus messi, give them each £500k a week wages, but that aint gonna happen.

Thats a bit of a daft reply in all honesty suits.

My main point was that I would have liked a more quality midfielder than Gravesen and if we don't bring one in by January with the Fernandes cash then I wont be too happy.

Totally Agree, we were given hopes that moyes would bring a young, skilfull midfielder into the ranks, with a proven bid for gonzalez, and he brings back a 31 year old midfielder, with a couple of years left in him, who has had 3 bad seasons in a row...

..dissappointing...

Maybe you should look at what I said since I never said the club failed to buy Fernandes - although it could be argued the club are at fault. I mean, how long did we have to buy him? Looks like we messed it up big time, we clearly wanted to look at others first (Gonzales) and he was a last resort so to speak... he mustn't have been to happy with that, I know I wouldn't have been.

Point of the thread is that its a bit disappointing to end up with Gravesen after trying to sign bigger-name players.

If I asked you a few weeks ago would you be happy with just signing Gravesen back, am pretty certain you would have said no.
 
only thing i see disappointing is the likes of gemmill, pembridge, and the rest that he had to cover for.

when allowed to play his game and not do two or more jobs in CM he excelled.

a capable passer with enough steel to mix it.

but there is £12 mills worth of difference in the last two.

No worries mate. If it happens there will be plenty more threads. Seems too good to be true but for now I'll just enjoy the thought of him playing for us.
