The cleverest person on GOT

Some of the most well off people I know didnt do well at school/education.

I earn decent money like but if I knew what I know now I would have certainly swerved off Uni and got a good trade behind me.

I am a stubborn mule, thats my problem. So, with maths, I wasnt remotely interested in all the x,y, bollox. Sailed through 3 A levels, in stuff I liked, and then jibbed off Uni offers cos I just didnt think 3 years studying History was much point, job wise. (How wrong I was).

Havnt got a trade, as such, but made a decent living in sales. Mainly cos I ignored all the Sales Courses I went on. You cant learn it, and if you do learn it, you come across as a weirdo/desperate.

Best example of that, was Fergie, courting Roy Keane. Invited him for a chat and game of snooker, "Roy, we will dominate the PL without you, with you, CL is on".

Whats the lad gonna do?

The first time I ever met anyone who had been to Uni was when I did my National Service in the Army. (1950's) We had a guy in our platoon who had been to Uni. He was older than most as he had been deferred to get his degree. He suddenly disappeared and went off for Officer training. Many second lieutenants in those days were National Servicemen.
During your first week in the Army, you went to see a host of people, mainly medical types, but there was one officer who was obviously weeding out 'officer material'. I had no chance, having left school at 15 with no qualifications but when he asked me for my favourite author and I said Jerome K Jerome, he did raise his eyebrows! lol

....in terms of academic qualifications, some of the cleverest people I know are the daftest.
Yea the dumbest person I ever came across was an architect. Had a run in with him in my days as an electrician, he wanted a light places in an open hall way plan but wanted it in the centre of the ceiling which was 2nd floor height, and no way would he let me explain why it was a bad idea.. I rang my boss and told him what was happening and that I'd leave extra cable so we can move it later, the boss said fair enough, then when people realised they couldn't change bulbs without a giant step ladder in their hall, everyone was called and the git tried to blame me.

Masters in Microelectronic Engineering, 2 x Degrees in Electronic Engineering, City and Guilds in Telecommunications. :whip:

And not a shred of compassion or common sense stemmed from all your studying.

Mate, you could hold a Nobel in your locker but if you truly view life as poorly as you seem to do with such contempt, ignorance and arrogance then I have nothing but the utmost sympathy for you.
