Happy with it or does it need shoring up in the summer? Its actually done well this season in the main but it was worryingly fragile last saturday. Hope it was just a one off:unsure:

I think somtimes as the Centre Backs are all under 26, they somtimes lose concentration. An get caught out of position.

It's just experience they need, An will only get it by playing.

RB is the only place we need to add to the defence.

if the defence had the 'easy ball' option into midfield everytime then they would be much more solid, 'row Z' football has its time and place, but of late we have become a little over reliant on the big punt forward which a great percentage of the time sees us surrender possession and invite pressure onto ourselves.

we need the quality centre of the park midfielder that will dictate our play.

That would stop alot of the hoofs. The defense alot of times this season has had no one to pass to.

You can't blame the defence. We've had a few injuries recently and they've mistakingly tried passing to their stricken colleagues sat up in the stands. I blame an excess of headers.

Defense has been pretty solid this season.

I think everyone acknowledges that we could improve at right back but from the standpoint of defense, I think they've done well.

Goals against = 26, 3 more than chelsea and 2 more than the RS and Ars. Not particulary bad when you look at the season as a whole. Only very recently has it been highlighted, jeez we've had a brilliant start to 2008 and tbh it would have been a miracle to continue that form. Another fit CB would probably be sat on the bench for the majority of the season. I dont think CB is really one of the positions you would want to rotate unless forced. We have what? 4 CB's at the minute 3 are generally on the pitch come match day. Next season I expect that to be 2 with Yobo or Jags being dropped to make way for Baines to go to LB and Lescott back to CB.

I dont think we need to invest, but if we did, then maybe an experienced international CB would add something that neither Yobo or Jags posses at this minute - Leadership, and calmness. I know Yobo is captain of Nigeria, but I honestly dont think he has what it takes to be the leader. On his day he's a good defender but leader? no ta.
