With Pistone gone, and possible Naysmith too who do you think will be first choice for the left back position?

Even with those two gone it's not like there is no cover; Neville, Boyle, Valente and Lescott.

I think that Valente (if he has a good preseason) will be first choice, with Boyle pushing him and Lescott having his fair share of games in that place as well.

Anyway it seems that the defense is made up of many versatile players who cover several positions.

Center Half: Yobo, Stubbs, Lescott, Jagielka and Neville

Left Back: Valente, Neville, Boyle and Lescott

Right Back: Hibbert, Neville, Jagielka (maybe even Yobo)

Strongest line-up IMO would be Neville - Yobo - Lescott - Valente

Moyes has IMO created a good defensive line that has youth and experience and can easily be switched around.

I would however like to see Leighton Baines arrive.

It would seem Moyes is concerned agout LB hence his sniffing round Wigan and Nice.

If Valente is healthy, my first choice back four would be:

Hibbert........Yobo........Lescott..........Valente

I know Stubbs did a great job for us last year but I think this is what you'd have to run out with.

big 'If' is that, there is a question mark hanging over valente, he isnt fully back yet and has been out for months.
