Here's something I did earlier...

The Telegraph kindly provide a tax calculator depicting how much tax from folk's salary goes on Welfare per year. I chucked in the figures of £29k (average UK salary I read the other day) and £150k (as a nominal high earner figure).

Very little goes on unemployment benefits. Most goes on pensions. Interesting stuff! Grrr bloody pensioners taking our taxes and flogging stuff on ebay, grrrrr.

My takeaway from that is that we should work people harder so they don't get unemployment but also die younger and take less pension
