The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Robert Earl is worth £280m according to this link.

In 2006 he bought 23% of the club for a reported £9m, valuing the club at just under £40m. Not sure if it's still 23% and it is not much less than Kenwright owns if BK still owns 25%. Not sure how much he's put into the club since then apart from arranging Sly Stallone appearances? But if the plan is to sell to the right owners, what would a business-man like that want as a return for his bailing Kenwright out in the Paul Gregg situation? (http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-1603795/Green-at-heart-of-Everton-battle.html)

Is it realistic we will find a billionaire owner? I don't think so.

Could be a stumbling block to any sale. I find it hard to believe that a man of Earl's business nous could not have at least helped us get close to a sale by now, if that was the plan.

British-born, has a Brit accent, but is into his food and Reality Food shows at the moment.

Wayne Rooney is the 2nd Richest Brit Sportsman with a wealth of £72m....maybe he can help buy us in 7 or 8 years!

I don't trust any of them with any ground decision however, there is enough wealth there to comfortably underwrite phased re-development. That's not what their game is about though.

With hindsight Johnson should have ridden out the fan concern, clinched NTL, built the Kings Dock, and sold at a reasonable profit (not the pittance he took from Kenwright). We'd be well set now.

Big summer for the board...and Martinez. The club needs backing. Gonna be very difficult as we can't sell much and have no Europe to guarantee some future income or even to attract fresh talent.

Hear this every season. Sorry my man, but I am over hearing it until the Board is gone.

True, but we did get the backing last summer. Rom signing without any significant player leaving.

'Backing'

This was Everton's money (generated from TV money) not the board. This 'backing' was something available to the club. There was ZERO external funding of it (by board members).

What is unforgivable now is that the board are putting their heads in the sand on the stadium.

They won't even back this (with their own money) and are expecting a handout from LCC.

Now they are trying to say it won't generate all that much money

Its ridiculous. Utter drivel and Elstone should go for coming out with such utterly obvious untruths.

Apart from felii jelaevic chebes and a bunch of high earners

That was the previous summer.

Thank Sky for that. But all other teams add more into the kitty on top of Sky.

I think probably the other 6 big clubs do, but do the other 13? Haven't seen the stats.

I remember you were holding back on your judgement of Everton's board last summer.

You must see now with this latest disaster what clueless chancers they are.

Welcome aboard.

I'm open to persuasion dependent on current developments. I was with you all the way in backing Martinez this season, but regarding the board I'm perusing both sides while sitting on Chico's fence.

I agree the zero external funding by board members is not bringing the club forward at all. This alone may be a good reason to change my vote.

I haven't seen you post in ages, not since that night in Crystanbul unless I've got you mixed up with someone else!

you must have missed my posts last summer where I celebrated us winning the World Cup

Which rolled into this year, some of the surplus went towards Rom. We brought in the best part of 40 mil for them 3

That fence went up in 1999 and apart from being painted with Ronseal Fencelife hasnt had any maintenance to talk of.

After Elstones announcement in todays programme the fence is crumbling and your backing of the board should be crumbling too.
