The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

That fence went up in 1999 and apart from being painted with Ronseal Fencelife hasnt had any maintenance to talk of.

After Elstones announcement in todays programme the fence is crumbling and your backing of the board should be crumbling too.

I'm reserving judgement until after the summer window (like I did last summer, that turned out alright in the end). But yeah, the fence is a bit wobbly at the moment.

The board can't just be measured by what's happening on the field, be it successful or not.
The role of the board is to move us forward off the field as well.
Commercially, that isn't happening in comparison to our peers, nor has it happened in the past.
We've had two failed stadium moves, and they are getting their excuses in for Walton Hall Park.
There has been no real investment from board members to progress the club.
For me it's reaching a crisis point, either we move forward off field, or we sit happily where we are as a stable Premier League side and get swallowed by the rushing pack that are fueled by the new TV money.
If the board are not prepared to progress the club, then unfortunately no matter how Blue Bill might be they need to leave.
Easy as that.

Not quite as easy as all that. They are "prepared", but Everton don't have the glamour of London and the Liverpool media cult do their best to keep our reach out of range to the rest of the world.

So no glamour and no cash, so sell up? To who and with what consequences?

They can be prepared all they like but the reality has been that they haven't and aren't progressing the club off the field. Provided stability yes, progress no.
If they cannot do that, then they should sell the club to someone who can and will put effort into driving the club forward.

Looking for investment is not the same as for being for sale.
If Everton was actually for sale we would likely see plenty of buyers looking, purely because of the money football currently has in it.

It's well-known we've been looking for investment for a long time. As you say, with all the money in it why has no one serious tried their luck yet?

Because we don't have an attractive cachet? Because the board are actively blocking serious inquiries? Some other reason?

And the problem with us being officially for sale is that we'll attract the kind of sharks that did for Portsmouth and the like. It's always been a bit of a tightrope situation, but football (not just us) needs Everton to progress, so let's at least hope we'll see a solid net spend and then see what Bobby can do.

Bit off-topic but in Elstone's recent blog:

Do they know something about the fixture list that we do not?

Maybe 50k+ evertonians from around the world could follow him and ask him why he invested in Everton, what the score is, how much debt we're in, how many recent re-financings and the like have affected us and what his intentions are for his business' core customers are. Politely of course....he tweets a lot so...

or for a nice recipe to help drown our sorrows.

He wont be arsed in the slightest mate

He wont be arsed in the slightest mate

£9m to buy out Paul Gregg's share suggests he must be concerned about something. All these dodgy re-financings, loans, etc...British Virgin Island companies, etc etc. A more business-like mind than mine hopefully can find something out.

He wont be arsed in the slightest mate

Of course not. He's our saviour, is the twice bankrupt batty butty man. He's the one that bolly billox brought in to replace the evil paul gregg - you remeber him, the one that billox slated for never going to the game.........The evil, conniving one one that was gonna front us the moolah for KD but then take overall control away from bolly billox............

Whereas earl's on the record as saying he has no input, and wants no input with the club until they've got a new stadium. He just underwrites our loans is all.........Strangely it didn't take long to find him, though.........

Thought this was the best place to post this but it's looking more and more likely that the club will be sold this summer, I've been told.
It's no coincidence that this is all coming out with Bill being very ill. It's not certain of course but just passing on what I've heard.
